MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 2Pet.1:13-15. - Putting Off The Tent?

2Pet.1:13 I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you; 1:14 knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 1:15 Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure.

The fallen flesh of mankind, which the apostle Peter was not speaking to here learns by repetitive repetition inculcation by words.

2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.

This in not what Peter was saying when stating he would remind the brothers as long as he was still living in his tent, his flesh. Peter like all anointed ones of God allows for the Holy Spirit to teach God's children, he was not saying: “I must pound this into your head so meet with me every few hours, or days until I get this message into you heads!”

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

Many fleshly religion uses the same tactics as does worldly institutions in teaching their followers, and it works, but not Peter. Peter understand God puts his Holy Spirit into each child of God to teach them the truth, this does not mean God does not use men on earth to teach us, but the men he uses must understand they are fellow workers with God's Holy Spirit under the teacher, the head of the congregation Christ Jesus.

1Cor.3:1 Brothers, I couldn't speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ. 3:2 I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren't yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready, 3:3 for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren't you fleshly, and don't you walk in the ways of men? 3:4 For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," aren't you fleshly? 3:5 Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed; and each as the Lord gave to him? 3:6 I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. 3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

If all depends upon mankind to teach and make disciples for the Christ than we would find a world wide field of false religion created by what? Corruption of yeast in fleshly teachings. Subsequently, that is what we find, few are lead by Holy Spirit and taught by Holy Spirit because of all the yeast teaching of mankind which creates confusion. Confusion and disorder happens to pure worship when mankind yeast thinking is mixed into truth of Christ. In other words, the fruits of corruption are the works of the flesh, there is no hiding them to those with Holy Spirit. The flesh believes the lie, how, by putting labels on bad actions to justify the evil by good words from God's word the bible.

2 Corinthians 1:17 When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the "Yes, yes" and the "No, no?"

1 Corinthians 5:6 Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?

Hence, all man made religion has good and evil works in them, by placing a nice name upon them from the scriptures does not change the fruit on the tree. Peter was not taking the place of the power of Holy Spirit, Peter himself was recreated by Holy Spirit and educated by God to teach others, and be a gift to his brothers, nothing Peter possessed in his flesh made disciples for Christ. Instead it was the Christ working in Peter and through Peter that made him a vessel for mercy for others.

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.
