MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > John.8:54 - Jesus Answered, "If I Glorify Myself"?

John.8:54 Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.

Jesus makes here a powerful point about sinful human practice, spending a life time glorifying themselves before others. The point was in the Garden of Eden god-ship given God YHWH glory or lesser god's created in God's image, mankind. Man is created a little lower than angels, how many human would worship an angels if they were allowed intimate contact with us, when so many will follow humans created lower than God's angels?

Revelation 22:8 Now I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who had shown me these things. 22:9 He said to me, "See you don't do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers, the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."

Rev.13:13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people. 13:14 He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.

Personality is very powerful in human's following others, personality is also sold on all levels in society because human look to other flesh for worship. Christ refused to let himself be sucked into personality worship knowing the deceptive power it has over others. In fact, little really is written about any of God's prophets personality, no separate books about their winning personality, no pictures of God's prophets, not even his own son Christ Jesus. God refused to share His glory with mankind right down to forbidding making ones body into idol by tattoos, or statues, images. But let us remember in the world such is the practice in everything mankind does to building a business to religion's, and certainly in politics, all hold one thing in common the glorification of humans beings personality.

Rom.1:19 because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them. 1:20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse. 1:21 Because, knowing God, they didn't glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.
1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 1:23 and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

Christ was the exact opposites he was self-effacing he never made himself a god, he refused to be called good upon earth, and he never used his personality to win ones to his Father Jehovah God. He spoke truth, he did not flatter, and he call such conduct love. God's prophets did the same, the apostle of Christ did the same, and in heaven we find God's angels and those elders around the throne giving glory and worship to Christ as being worthy, not themselves.

James 1:21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls{or, preserve your life.}.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe.

2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

Subsequently, because of this truth, and Spirit, Christ was not known by this world, as the Father is not known by this world, and Christ brothers, why? Because they all give glory to the Father and not themselves/personalities making them no part of this world. God's glory exist in his creation, but not once does he call attention demanding glory by logos on everything he created, not once does he write his name across the sky. Not once does he send an powerful angel demanding worship impressing others with His power and glory, not once! Each one of us must search for Him, truth is humble and lowly, it is not packaged it is not a mega church, or a winning personality telling us like the positive self-help grues of the world how much potential and how wonderful in this life!

Romans 8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.{The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings.

Philip.2:5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
2:6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. 2:9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;
2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 2:12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Truth is like a delicate flower growing in the grass that other walk over and we stoop, get down on our knees and view with love and appreciation. Truth is everywhere it calls out in the streets in the creation, but human under sin ellipse the truth by their own glory using God's truth to make themselves into an idol. This is why it was a small unknown act of kindness done to the least of Christ brothers that the worlds judgment is based upon.

John 5:41 I don't receive glory from men.

John 5:44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don't seek the glory that comes from the only God?

1 John 4:5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

1 John 3:1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn't know us, because it didn't know him.

Matt.25:34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 25:35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. 25:36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.' 25:37 "Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?
25:38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? 25:39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?' 25:40 "The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers{The word for "brothers" here may be also correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."}, you did it to me.'
