Examining Teaching of JW's > Letter From the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses

Here below is a letter from the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses that we are going to examine their thoughts against the bible to see if what is being taught is in line with what Christ and his apostles taught after the out pouring of the Holy Spirit.

The words spoken by the Governing Body are seemingly innocent enough their hopes is to encourage its members to serve Jehovah God, but is it the love of all truth we must seek and speak to teach accurately the Christ that is the real question? Moreover, do such truth actually produce within each member of Jehovah's Witnesses the fruit of Holy Spirit, thus, proving it is the one good tree Christ said we must have to keep from being mislead by false prophets?

This discussion will be on going as we take each paragraph of their letter testing it against the truth over the next few weeks.

Governing Bodies Comments in there entirety

“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,” said Jesus. (John 8:32) Think of how you felt when you first found the truth from the Bible! It was exciting to know that in a world full of lies, we can learn the truth.—2Timothy 3:1.

Jehovah God wants us to know the truth. And because we love people, we want to tell them about it. But there is more to serving God. We must do our best to live as Christians because we deeply respect Jehovah’s principles. Jesus explained an important way that we can prove to God that we love him. He said: “If you observe my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have observed the commandments of the Father and remain in his love. -”John 15:10.”

Jesus really loves his Father, and he does everything his Father asks him to do. If we imitate Jesus in the way that we live, Jehovah will love us and we will be truly happy. As Jesus said, “if you know these things, happy you are if you do them.”—John 13:17.

We hope that this publication will help you learn to live by the truth from the Bible and to become a friend of God. It is our prayer that you will grow in your love for God and remain “in God’s love . . . with everlasting life in view.”Jude -21.

Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses

Governing Bodies Comments - First Paragraph:

“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,” said Jesus. (John 8:32) Think of how you felt when you first found the truth from the Bible! It was exciting to know that in a world full of lies, we can learn the truth.—2Timothy 3:1.

Our Comments - First Paragraph:

The first thing that comes to mind regarding the above comments is? Are Jehovah's Witness free? Is that the estimate of most of their members, or ex-members not even their opposer? The truth they are saying is they are burden with many rules, so much so that most live in a state of fear, worried if they are doing enough for God to earn his approval. Is this the truth Christ was speaking to when saying the truth will set us free?

But let us remember here that it was the Jewish faith that had become rule upon rule bound that Christ was speaking to when he made the above statement about being free, but free of what?

Isaiah 28:13 Therefore the word of Yahweh will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.

Was Christ speaking of freedom in their religion? Was it freedom by adding more laws, was it freedom in going to the temple every minuted of every day?
2.

Did the laws of Israel hold out freedom or judgment of their sinful flesh?

Rom.7:8 But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.

Rom. 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin. 7:15 For I don't know what I am doing. For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.

Yes, we can learn the truth, but Christ made it clear it did not exist with the Jews because they did not have the love of God in them, and that was proven by all the commandments upon commandments they had placed upon each other.

John 5:42 But I know you, that you don't have God's love in yourselves.

Rom.10:1 Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved. 10:2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 10:3 For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Christ further warns us that its not what we say, but the fruits we produce. Sadly, we will find in Jehovah's Witnesses own written record for more then a hundred years, one truth after another being changed.

2.

Rules and commandments that were placed upon its members as burdens removed/changed, eventhough, so many had to suffer the oppression and/or be removed from the Watch Tower and Bible Tract Society. Is this the truth that Christ said would set us free?

But please listen, it is the least one that's important to God, not the majority, what of all those removed, mocked, and disfellowshiped for not going along with some so called new light that was changed in just a few short years, is that good fruit? Is that God's love to gloss over such egregious acts, by justifying the evil for the greater good of the Organization, such fruit or conduct isn't from Christ who said he is the truth.

Revelation 18:24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth."

Luke 12:6 "Aren't five sparrows sold for two assaria coins{An assarion was a small copper coin worth about an hour's wages for an agricultural laborer.}? Not one of them is forgotten by God.

Luke.15:7 I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.

Context

What is the context of Christ words about being set free by the truth? Free from what, do you know? Well, sadly Jehovah's Witness never teach the context of Christ words, because they can't, if they do it would strip the power of their governing body and their corporate power giving it back to Christ were it rightfully belongs.
3.
Christ set his disciples free by pouring out the Holy Spirit they being birthed as God's children into Christ himself as their righteousness. (having none of their own) Their having Christ righteousness, he being in them, and them in him, gives them the truth (Christ Jesus). Now they are actually in the truth, that is, they were in Christ as his body members, the last, and greatest temple of God that stripped all power away from all earthly governments, religions, and/or commerce from of Christ body and its members.

Philippians 1:11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 3:9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

Galatians 2:21 I don't make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!"

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

That is the truth that would set them free, not just reading their bibles.

John.5:39 "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me. 5:40 Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.
5:41 I don't receive glory from men.
4.
They were dead to this world because the flesh that false religion uses to enslave us, was put to death in Christ. They had been raised in Christ and seated with him in heaven above, far above the darkness and corruption of this world, and they had received his kingdom. How could they not being they were in Christ, hence, they were in the kingdom, that is, in Christ. Now they had eternal life, the eternal life of Christ dwelling in them, a life that could not be corrupted by any flesh and its sin (Christ being incorruptible). Yes, they were truly free.

Col. 3:1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.
3:2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. 3:3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 3:4 When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.

Col.1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; 1:13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love;

Col. 2:8 Be careful that you don't let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ. 2:9 For in him all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily, 2:10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power;

Eph.1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

5.
1:20 which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,
1:21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. 1:22 He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,
1:23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

Eph. 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, 2:5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
2:6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 2:7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Col. 2:14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us; and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross;
2:15 having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Nothing like it had ever occurred in all the history of Israel, Christ did exactly what Daniel prophecy spoke about. He completed, and brought in the everlasting covenant, the new covenant, and set aside the old for a better living way, how? By making us members in his resurrected immortal life. This is the freedom found in the truth, Christ is the way and the truth.

6.

Hebrews 9:15 For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

2 Corinthians 3:6 who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to finish disobedience, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.

Now having stated the truth which is the meat of all the Christian's Greek scriptures under the power of God's Holy Spirit, do Jehovah's Witnesses teach that truth? No, and unfortunately for many that see the fruit, which fruit does not match the words of Christ they have no idea how Christ sets us free let alone teachings the truth of Christ that he set Christian's free, that is, his body members two thousand's years ago.

Heb.12:28 Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe.

Heb. 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 3:22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,
3:23 and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's.
7.
Hebrews 7:16 who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:

John 5:24 "Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

John. 17:19 For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. 17:20 Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who believe in me through their word, 17:21 that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

This is the truth that set us free an eternal living word of God Christ Jesus, no the bible, the bible is a primary step to the living word of God Christ life that must live in us to set us truly free!

The last point, lets look at the tree of truth? Those being set free by the truth were also to be taught the truth by the power of Christ life. We must noted here that the bible is very clear that all humans are liars, not one is righteous, no not one!

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

Romans 3:4 May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written.
8.
"That you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgment."{Psalm 51:4}

So the truth cannot come from mankind, it must come from the truth whom is Christ Jesus now entrusted with all of God's belongings as the one proven and true faithful and discreet servant of God. He is the head and teacher of the truth to us. When so called truth from our bibles are read by human without the Holy Spirit teaching them we end up with thousand's and thousand's of religions, false teachings that are every changing time and again, plus false prophecy which not one has come truth.

James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

Does such fruit sound to you as Christ the truth that cannot lie? You see that is why Christ was sent as the truth, as the light. It was not a matter of having enough knowledge of God. No! Israel was full of knowledge about God they held the truths of God for thousand's of years before Christ came as the truth. It was about one person that did not lie because of sin, who told the truth so he could teach us the truth of God, that is, his love, not his law! Not rule upon rule that cannot be obeyed without first loving God.

John.1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome{The word translated "overcome" (katelaben) can also be translated "comprehended." It refers to getting a grip on an enemy to defeat him.} it.
9.
John.1:12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name: 1:13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 1:14 The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

But what was missing? Well, what was missing was the Holy Spirit that was to teach all of God's children. It wasn't until Christ was put to death in his flesh and made alive in Spirit that the Holy promised Spirit was poured out upon his body members so the truth could never be lost again for those in Christ.

John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.

John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.

John 15:26 "When the Counselor{Greek Parakletos: Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, and Comfortor.} has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.

John 16:13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

10.
Do we understand that the truth will never be found in our flesh that the Spirit does not teach our flesh?

Now the apostle John could say and reminded each body member that it was the Spirit that was truth, and not words coming from men that were taking over the congregation of God by inserting themselves as teacher over other equal members of the same body. Yes, they needed no man, or anyone to teach them the truth they had been set free in Christ Jesus they were free of the corruption of the flesh and made alive with Christ in Spirit and truth. They were commanded to listen to what was coming from the Spirit if they were in Christ not a man saying he taught for Christ.

1 John 2:20 You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.{Or, "know what is true." Or, "know all things."}

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

The Spirit is the Truth
1 John 4:13 By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

1 John 5:6 This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

11.
If Christ was in them then they could test every spirit not of Christ against the life of Christ in them as the truth, how simple was that? But Oh how sad when men set themselves up as self-appointed faithful slaves over others when Christ had to wait upon God's approval at his resurrection, not in some men on earth putting a label on themselves as God's faithful and discreet servant.

John 8:50 But I don't seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.

John 8:54 Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.
