Examining Teaching of JW's > Why shouldn’t we mess with a narcissist?

Why shouldn’t we mess with a narcissist?

NEVER maintain contact with someone you have realized is a narcissist. They cannot tolerate exposure, rejection, humiliation or criticism, no matter how well-deserved or well-intentioned. If, God forbid, they fall into the category of MALIGNANT narcissism, and you value your property, family, reputation, safety or sanity, RUN, don’t walk, away as quickly and quietly as you can. Don’t give in to the temptation to “get even” now that you know they were using you; believe me, they’ll find a way to get back at you and it won’t be gentle.

Always remember, narcs have no empathy. To them, decency, honor and fairness are for suckers - and they have been known to take months or even years, quietly waiting to strike. If you’ve ever seen the movie “Disclosure” with Michael Douglas and Demi Moore, her character Meredith is a perfect example. She took years getting into the perfect position to destroy his life because he broke up with her after an affair.

As someone whose life has been damaged by a narcissist, my best advice is to learn the signs and red flags that even the cleverest narc can give off. YouTube has dozens of excellent videos on the subject, as well as advice on the best ways to go no contact.

One more thought: When you decide to leave, PLEASE do the world a favor and don’t go all Blofeld/Bond, telling them how you brilliantly figured out their evil motives. All that will accomplish is to teach them what to avoid with their next victim.

Keep your eyes open for the gaslighting, triangulation, flying monkeys, and all the other soul-destroying behaviors!
