MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Who's Works?

1Cor.3:8 Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

What labors are we being judged by? Well a fleshly Christian's would say the works they are doing by the name of Christ Jesus for the Kingdom, but a spiritual person would say the works Christ Jesus is performing through them for his Kingdom, there is a vast difference, do know what that difference is? How do we plant, do we plant a spiritually seed, or fleshly seed, do we water spiritually, or fleshly? There is no difference from the one watering, and the one planting, do you know why?

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Do you think it depends upon your personality to bring someone to Christ Jesus, well, these fleshly Christian's in Corinthian's thought so, they believed the personality of their teacher was the key to bring someone into Christ Jesus, but in the body of Christ one is nothing more than a member just like a finger belongs to the hand, and the hand belongs to the arm, and the arm belongs to the shoulder, and so on, but all belong to the one body.

Yahweh, is the creator and owner of Christ Jesus body, when he looks at the body He see it as one and the same, not many members, just as we don't divide our own body into personalities of each member because
they don't have a individual personality.

Colossians 1:18 He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

James 2:26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

Subsequently, for us to be found faithful we must be faithful as a body members, thus, our labors are for the glory of the owner of the body. Here in Corinthian's we have people not walking in love, which unites the body in the perfect bond of peace, but rather competing among it members as individual personalities striving for fame. How then could they be planting spiritual seeds, or watering spiritually, certainly they weren't teaching the truth about their position within the spiritual body of Christ Jesus, they were using the wisdom of the world to plant and water. When we plant or water according too our personality, and not Christ Jesus we are following men into corruption that will produce death.

James 3:3 Indeed, we put bits into the horses' mouths so that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body.

Ephesians 4:16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.
