Eph. 1:14 who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of his glory.

The pledge of God to us is His Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ working in us as truth, this truth testifies to our inheritance. The truth of God is Jesus Christ, we are God possession for His glory, how so?

Well, we are taken as captive in Christ Jesus, no longer does our self-will control our lives, we must rest in God's Great Sabbath, letting His will through Christ Jesus work in us and direct our entire lives. And this is why we have a great wrestling in our flesh, that is, our flesh tries too come back and direct our lives instead of God's will each day and some times minute to minute. This requires walking in faith and spirit, how so. We must put too death the flesh each day, where it takes control of our lives by using God's Spirit, thus, we can only have God's Holy Spirit in resting in God, or trusting in Him, or resting in the Great Sabbath of His love.

Rom.8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.{NU omits "who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit"}

We cannot walk in the Spirit through self-will, nor can we get God's Spirit by self-will or by being tough on ourselves, we must simply rest or trust in God's love for us. This trial is the greatest trial one can endure because all in our world fights against trusting in God, ourselves, our religious teachings, other Christians, our jobs, government, and Satan.
But unless we rest in Him the flesh, and its will will control us.
