MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > What Air Do You Breathe?

Eph. 2:2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience.

The apostle Paul here reminds us that there is a power of darkness a prince of darkness that permeates the very air we breathe in disobedience; it is so pervasive that it is the natural grain of the tree producing bad fruit. What does Paul mean though? He means that water seeks its own level, rather or not what human believe, which is, greater freedoms come through less moral laws, truth is, it's just the opposite for the sinful flesh.

In other words, our sinful flesh seeks greater disobedience from God's law, but the sinful flesh is not free when doing so it just creates greater disobedience in our sinful flesh. The miracle that these brothers and sisters were being reminded of was they had been set free from this spirit of disobedience in Christ Jesus. They now breathed the air of obedience in Christ Jesus permeated in God's righteousness and not disobedience. However, the very air of this world is disobedience, so we find there is no other place upon earth to live without being in the air of disobedience to God.

But we have been taken out of this world, but how? We have been raised up in Christ Jesus who is seated at God's right hand. Although we are not taken physical into heavens we are raises spiritually into heaven through the body of Christ Jesus; and here the air is pure with no laws against the sinful flesh because love rules the air of the spirit world, where there is no sinful flesh in Christ Jesus. The natural grain of the tree we are grafted into produces good fruits of obedience and righteousness, thus, our natural inclination is good in Christ Jesus, and not bad as is the world controlled by disobedience against God.

This unsurpassing gift of God greatness has delivered us from darkness into the light of Jesus Christ where we live in him; we now are no part of the air of disobedience, let us not forget why we are here, and why we are a live, and why we have righteous air too breathe. Moreover, let us not forget to focus on the things above walking in Spirit so we do not fall into the spirit of disobedience again.
