Col.1:3 We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 1:4 having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have toward all the saints.
Here Paul speak the truth in Spirit that God's knows these brothers and sisters love for His saints, and their prayers for them, but Paul is not starting another fleshly rule too mock God here, what does this mean?
It means that the flesh takes scriptures creates a rule and believes obeying the rule makes them more righteous. However, a person cannot be more righteous, why? Because Christ Jesus is our righteousness we cannot go beyond Christ Jesus righteousness given us as a free gift, there is no higher standard that we must meet.
In other words, prayers do not make us righteous before God, or loving the saints, but Christ Jesus life given too us as God's own righteousness so we can love and pray for the saint in a peaceful relationship with God.
Fleshly Christian's are always trying to grasp hold of some little quality in the bible to make themselves stand above other Christian's seemingly not having the same quality. Christ Jesus is not a competition, do you know why? Simply, because those in Christ Jesus are his life and body, which means they do not belong too themselves, but to Christ Jesus, and his will.
In other words, the hand of our own body does not compete with the finger on the hand, they both do the will of our body and receive life from our body as a gift. Yes, indeed pray, love God saints, but do so not for a hearing that you have obtain some self-righteousness by your efforts, but in thankfulness that our Father has placed you into His love in Christ Jesus as a member.
