MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 1John 2:1- if we sin?

1John 2:1 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor{Greek Parakleton: Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, and Comfortor.} with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.

Sin is not an option for those walking in the flesh, they are sinners and if they confess they have no sin they are liars. Sin cannot be removed from mankind by self-will, doing good works in order too appease God's righteousness. When a law is broken no good works done after the fact appeases the crime, it must be paid for, no matter how sorry, or how many times we try to make up for it by good works.

Subsequently, we are sinners, and we have all violated God's righteous laws by simply being born into the human race. Thus, God has made a provision for us to legally justify our sins before Him, that is, the righteous blood of Christ Jesus appeases God's wrath against violating His laws.

Ephesians 2:15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace.

John also speak to the superior way rather than allowing men to take Christ Jesus position through leadership over us, God has in His love provided a helper, a counselor, in the Holy Spirit that comforts and pleads for us our sins before God restoring us into good spiritual health with our heavenly Father. But there is more when it comes to God dealing sin on every level for us, that is, the righteous, yes, Jesus Christ. He alone is righteous in the sense he completed God's wrath against us in his own righteousness, so by his righteousness he becomes God's righteousness, as the Old Law of Moses was God's righteousness before Christ came and died for us.

How was the Old Law of Moses God's righteousness? Simply put, it was perfect spiritual law, condemning us too sin and death, but God unmerited kindness allowed for innocent blood animals to be shed so we could stand justified in our sins before God, in this manner, the law became God's righteousness for the human race.

Now Christ Jesus is God's righteousness under the new covenant administering the Royal law of freedom, love. Christ replaced the righteousness of the Old law by his precious life found in his blood, so Christ Jesus is our righteousness provided we remain in him.

1Cor.1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.

Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"{Deuteronomy 21:23}

Galatians 5:4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
