1John 3:6 Whoever remains in him doesn't sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.
John again poses a frighten question to legalistic Christian's, binding themselves by truth of law into a contract with God for life and death by their supposes sinlessness through obedience of law, what is that? Who of us can say legally we don't sin? Who can make God a liar by saying they don't sin?
1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Subsequently, the very thing legalistic Christian's reject as evil, which is being in Christ Jesus righteousness, is the only way that they can be accounted legally sinless by God, or they do not know Christ Jesus, no matter how much they preach him, too earn life! No one can stop sinning against God righteous laws, which Law proved that no one was sinless in requiring millions of innocent animals lives to be slaughter for the nation or Israel sinning against God righteous law. Here now John was dealing with those fleshly fighters to have it both ways some of the Old Law, and some of the New Law of freedom, love, polluting both into death dealing laws of the flesh.
The mere fact the Old Law was being used again proved that one was a sinner, not sinless in Christ Jesus, a person could not have it both ways, either they were sinless, or a sinner However, they could be a sinner, but their sins not accounted against them “in Christ Jesus”. On the other hand, they could not be “into the Law” and not have their sins - not accounted against them. So those wanting both were the apostasy of weeds, that looked, and sound like Christian's but were fake Christ not knowing him, Jesus Christ, by not being “in Christ”.
Either Christ fulfilled the law, completing it, removing God's judgment, or he did not? Not a just little leaven was acceptable, fermenting the whole lump. These brothers and sisters are either declare righteous/sinless by Christ Jesus abolishing God's judgment against them by his righteous Law convicting them of sin, or God was is a liar.
However, John says, God cannot lie, so it was those teachers of the Laws of sin that are the liar, having sin, not covered by the blood of Christ Jesus righteousness, claiming they could atone for sin by obeying a commandment, and/or commandments of the law. There is one commandment that completes/fulfills the whole law, love, that love is God's expression in Jesus Christ, which was the end of the Law for those who believe in him.
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
