1John 3:7 Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Who is righteous? And if they were righteous, they have life, as he who is righteous, has life, Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
John 10:28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.
Can a person be righteous under the Old Law of Moses, yes, provided they put faith in the blood of animals, can a person be righteous in Christ Jesus, yes, provided they put faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
How are they righteous as “he is righteous”? Not by obeying the law, but rather faith in the blood, one cannot be perfect as Christ Jesus who by his righteousness fulfilled the Law for God, they can, however, accept the blood of Christ Jesus giving them Christ righteous imputed through his body too them as a gift!
This is why John and the other apostles used the term so often “in Christ Jesus” that is, being graft into a righteous tree, receiving the righteous holiness of the tree vicariously. Hence, to argue that one is grafted in Christ by anything but faith is a lie! One cannot make themselves part of the tree by their own righteous acts in obeying laws of the flesh, no they cannot, they must instead humbly accept Christ Jesus righteousness as redeeming them into his life by their faith.
If Christ Jesus is righteous than so are the branches of the tree, the branches do not support the tree making it righteous, no!. Thus, the only way to become righteous as he is righteous is in accepting the root stock is holiness, and its righteous by faith, and receive the life of the tree which sanctification us by our staying in the tree, Subsequently, ending of the mystery of lawlessness, for those who are righteous because he is righteous; denying by merit of law lawlessness by self serving sin.
Romans 11:16 If the first fruit is holy, so is the lump. If the root is holy, so are the branches.
Romans 11:17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them, and became partaker with them of the root and of the richness of the olive tree;
Romans 11:18 don't boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you.
