MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 1John 3:12 Cain Killed HIs Brother?

1John3:12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Cain felt he could earn his way into God's favor by sacrifices from self-goodness, or self-rightness, when God rejected his self-goodness and accept Abel's God-righteous sacrifice. Cain got angry with Abel and killed him.

Cain did not believe in God righteousness, he believed in human goodness to be right before God, but Abel believed in forgiveness and being set-right before God by the life of innocent animal life. Here is the pattern that exist between good and evil, the pattern of all those killing their brothers like Cain in a competition through doing self-good works for God, and when rejected by God they blame and hate their brother.

The apostle John had been stating to his brothers and sisters that the only way they could be sinless, set right before God, was by the life of Christ Jesus, that is, Christ Jesus righteousness, not their own, they were sinners and could not stop sinning by performing good works. Just like Cain, Johns words made those born of flesh, weed-Christian's angry with their brothers, they had performed many good works by the commandments, how could they not be more righteous than those putting faith in the power of Christ Jesus life and his righteous blood? Religion was a competition in comparing their works against works of their brothers, and judging their brothers and sisters as less.

Nor could weed-Christian's understand that those born again have an incorruptible seed of Christ Jesus in them their very desire is to be righteous as Christ Jesus is righteous, duh! They were his body members how could that not seek righteousness, how does a hand not have the righteousness of the body. Only a competition by fleshly Christian's in their own self-rightness, could imagine such a thing!
