Daily Bible Thought > 1Cor. 13:5 Love Doesn't Behave Inappropriately

1Cor.13:5 Love doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil.

What does it mean to seek your own way? Well, we know slaves in the body of Christ Jesus don't seek their own way, they seek the will of their Father in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ while on earth did only the will of his Father, so Jesus standards of seeking the Father now in heaven is still the same, moreover, the individual members of the body of Christ Jesus must first seek God's will and not their own. Christian's are not led by the flesh and its will, their bodies of the flesh are accounted dead in Christ Jesus. This allows them to be led by God's Holy Spirit.

Rom.8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

So when a body members seeks their own will, he is dead to love, which is Christ Jesus for us. This is why the Holy Spirit must be supreme in the body of Christ Jesus. Where members seeking their own will in pushing or beating into submission other members of the house of God, it is not found in love.

The Jews had the word of God handed down to them through Moses, yet they did not seeks God's will in connection with Jesus Christ. The law they possessed gave most of them a predetermine view, or judgment of Christ Jesus, God's Son. If they had sought the God of love they would have known God's love for his Son. But instead they sought their own will in matters of judgment.

Act. 4:11 He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.'{Psalm 118:22}

However, if they had walked in love, they could not have killed the Son of God, those Christian's today that live according to the law, which means, giving themselves the right by God Laws, to judge others, as evil/siners, are not in the body of Christ, walking in love. Evil too God is human sin, because it caused all the death in the world, and all the suffering caused by sin for the human race.

Rom.13:10 Love doesn't harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.

The body of Christ Jesus has no sin, all of them in the body are declared righteous in Christ blood which completed the Old Law. But when a body member walks by flesh or in their own will, they judge other outside of the righteousness of Christ Jesus, which in turn is evil in God's eyes.

James 4:1 Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don't they come from your pleasures that war in your members?
4:2 You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. You don't have, because you don't ask.
4:3 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives,
so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
4:4 You adulterers and adulteresses, don't you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously"?
4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34}

This is why few should be teachers in the congregation, because a body member although they may have vast amounts of knowledge, if they cannot determine between their own will and being led by God's Spirit under God's will, their teachings will stumble others, and set an entire body of Christ, members they associated with, into the fire of Gehenna:

James 3:1 Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.
3:2 For in many things we all stumble. If anyone doesn't stumble in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.

3:5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!
3:6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.

Love doesn't behave inappropriately, is not provoked, takes no account of evil.

Love does not become provoked, of course the very first thoughts most Christian's hold is; “Well Jesus got provoked?” Does this mean that all types of being provoked is alright than? Jesus certain did become very provoked at the pollution and uncleanness being practices in His Father's name at the Temple in Jerusalem, but above all it was the lack of goodness and mercy the Jew's were practicing towards each other at God's Temple worship that was the real problem causing the uncleanness.

However, Jesus did not sin, he remind sinless unto his death, and was declared righteous by God's own laws. Body members are also sinless “in Christ Jesus” that means they are led by Spirit and proof of the leading of Holy Spirit is love, or walking in love. They too can become provoked over unrighteousness being done in the name of God, Jehovah, Yahweh, if they our found in the righteousness of Christ Jesus, by walking in Spirit under love. In this type of being provoked is a righteousness, not based upon self-righteous, or by self-will that is led by the minding of the flesh.

Thus, all of us stumble and sin many times in this, which is why so few of us should be teachers, if we cannot determine between, laws of the flesh, or the will of ourselves overriding the leading of God Holy Spirit in our flesh.
