1John 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn't listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Christ Jesus himself made this same statement the apostle John was not being arrogant is stating the truth, and what was the truth? That Christ Jesus indwelt each anointed Christian's with his precious imperishable life, so who was it they were not listening too, John and his brothers, or Christ Jesus?
When one speak to the hand who do they speak too? Is it just the hand of the body thereof or what the hands is attached too? It is pointless to create a great mystery here, or to become arrogant for a body member when indeed truth is truth, not doctrine is truth what does this mean. And evil person can speak truthfully about bible doctrine, as well as a righteous person in Christ Jesus, but it is the spirit that makes it the truth.
What and who's spirit; that of the person, or the spirit they are indwelt with? Legal Christian's have a “spirit of law” the law feeds their body of truth, but all of its fruits are evil, hid behind God's words of truth. But the fruits of Holy Spirit feeds and cherish the body of Christ Jesus - making Christ Jesus the truth.
Matt.7:17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. 7:18 A good tree can't produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
This is John's point the flesh cannot hear the Spirit of truth, it cannot hear the voice of Christ Jesus speaking too the congregation of spirit led Christian's because it is full of evil fruits of death, and laws, blinded too the leading of Spirit, rather, legal Christian's are being led by rules of laws walking by sight, and the approval of man. Although fierce are their arguments/judgment but they cannot hear, so they hate those led by God's Spirit in love. Moreover they are the world, which John speak too in his letter of first John, who boldly profess Christ Jesus while denying the very Spirit of truth found in him!
