1John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God doesn't sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him.
Legalistic Christian's are stop in their track here, not being able to connect all the dots of God's word. They will state part of the truth, which John wrote in this same letter that says this:
1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
But quickly jump over the top of John's words in the same letter that says we don't sin! So what is the truth? The truth is we sin, but “in Christ Jesus, we have no sin, why? Because God looks at Christ Jesus righteousness in atoning for our sins of the flesh, that is, minding the flesh.
In other words, Christ Jesus is our pass-over lamb, when the Israelite put the blood of the pass-over lamb on their door post the angel of destruction pass-over their home. The angel looked at the blood, not the people inside the house, the blood was the ark of salvation, not the person doing some good work to save themselves inside of the house.
Those with the blood of Christ Jesus covering them in faith, and not good works God pass-over their sin, not looking at them, but instead the blood of a righteous man without sin, covers them. Yes, they still sin, and no they can never be righteous enough not to sin in their flesh, but they have no sin within Christ Jesus the ark of God's salvation for Christian's.
Legal Christian's have no power without legalizing God's word to make others obey the rules of their group. They have no excuse without legalizing God's word so they can judge others worthy of the blood of Christ, but without the power in meeting rules of laws they would have no power in their self-righteousness.
Their righteous is their god they idolize through rule of law within their man-made religions, but it does not cover them with Christ Jesus proven worthiness that must be accept as unmerited kindness unearned by them!
