MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Matt.5:6 - Hunger and Thrist After Righteousness

Matt.5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.

How does a Christian's thirst for righteousness? Will they seek the Kingdom and its righteousness, what is the Kingdoms righteousness, the law, or the Christ?

Here is the erroneous view many fleshly minded Christian's hold as truth, seeking the justice of the law against false religion as the righteousness of the Kingdom of God, but is that truth? No, it is not the righteousness of the God's Kingdom. The righteousness of the Kingdom is found in one righteous man that did not sin in word or deed, keeping the law perfectly without sin, Christ Jesus. This is the righteousness of God's Kingdom for us Christian's, where we got our name from. This is the good News of the Kingdom of God that a righteous man bought us from unrighteousness, so we can stand before God set right by his own blood.

The Jew's loving God understood they could not stand right by the Law of Moses, the law condemned them in not being right. Their righteousness came by innocent blood of animal victims, not by keeping the law perfectly because they could not being a sinner, that is, they all died, paying the wages of sin, death.

Seeking righteousness meant atonement not self-rightness, those thirsting for true righteousness, seeking forgiveness, would be filled with abundant superior righteousness shortly, by the imperishable life of Christ Jesus. Yes, they would become part of God's own righteousness found in Christ Jesus for the human race. This is the righteousness we should seek, not the righteousness of justice by law, which condemns to death those trying to prove themselves righteous by.

Christ righteousness would fill each member of the body of Christ Jesus with the fruits of righteousness, the Holy Spirit, living waters where we thirst no more.
