James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
How could a person say they are tempted from God if they didn't believe they knew better than God? Yes, the flesh is a god, it demands relief from temptation by works of law, by its own good efforts that God must reward.
Here was the problem when a person thinks they can obey God's commandments and present themselves too God for a reward in their fleshly thinking. Would God reward one for such false reasoning that suddenly they were not a sinner needing God's unmerited kindness in Jesus Christ? Had this fleshly minded person earned in his/her by human wisdom, the right to be righteous before God by their good works?
How could a person blame God for tempting them if they didn't put their own goodness above God's goodness? These brothers and sisters were mislead, into justification of sin by self-good works in the name of Christ Jesus. The were bitter with God for not accepting their efforts in trying not to sin by His righteous commandments.
How could God be so unfair, wasn't their good efforts proof enough they wanted to obey God? Wasn't that enough for Him, why would he allow them to endure in temptation, yet more? No it was not! Sin is death, and all are sinners, and nothing from ourselves is going to gain us merit in being right before God, nothing! We must humble ourselves, and accept what we can not produce from our own good works, the life of Christ Jesus. His life is acceptable to God, not our. His life is righteous, not ours, his life gained the reward of the keeping the law for us, giving us everlasting life, not our good works in obeying commandments.
All that we can do is stop blaming God for a free gift of undeserved kindness, and accept with humility the life of Christ Jesus in our sinful flesh asking God for a clean conscience by our faith. Not the putting away of filth in our flesh, hence, letting God perfect us by the life of Christ Jesus working through us for His glory, and not ours in meeting some rule of law, by organized religion.
