James 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Is it merciful too judge others by laws abolished in Christ Jesus, laws that were put too death in the life of Christ Jesus? In other words, if we have two sets of standards, and we beg the master for our own forgiveness, and the master, our Lord does not look at the log of sin in our eye, forgiving us freely, and than we go out and chock our own brother for a sin (speck of sin) in his eye are we not unrighteous judges of sins laws?
Why do we see the speck, and not the beam in our own eye? It is because we our in a fleshly mind, what does this mean? It means the fleshly mind is blinded by self-righteousness, it always see the bad in others to justify is own badness. In other words, it standard of judgment is not God judgment at all, it is a self-righteous judgment that want no more than to be better than the other guy.
However, judging by the law of freedom does not allow us to look at the other guy, magnifying their wrongs/sin, but instead exposes the truth of our own heart in a lack of appreciation for all God has forgiven us which blinds us to the sins of other, or least makes them very small so we can quickly forgive them as Christ forgives us.
How does mercy triumph over judgment? God choose mercy for us by sending His Son Christ Jesus to removed our deserved judgment by His righteous laws that condemned each or us as a sinner without forgiveness. If you and me love that mercy we will forgive the sins of our brothers and sisters, which makes that job easier if we honestly look into our own heart by the Spirit of God's love in His great mercy towards us.
Yes, by Spirit and truth, what is Spirit and truth? It is the Son of God Jesus Christ, we must walk in, and be led by Spirit, which is the law of love, because God is love.
