Matt.6:16 "Moreover when you fast, don't be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
Let us not fade into the legal mind here, that is, some Old Law mixed with some of the New Law of Love, no! Let us come clean into the pure unadulterated life of Christ Jesus the unleavened bread of God.
Fasting is not a legal requirement it is a act of love for God made by a conscience that want too please God.
Why fast when the Kingdom of God is not about eating or drinking, nor is it about not eating, and drink, but a heart that loves God? Well, that is the point, the legal fleshly mind cannot know because it is alienated from God through obligation too a religion and/or another human by guilt. However, Christ Jesus freed us from the law causing guilt that unrighteous men uses the power of, guilt, found in God's word the bible to enslave millions under their control.
Christian's are found in God's secret place if they are in Christ Jesus as body members, they cannot have more in their flesh, which is dead in Christ Jesus, so why fast? The only reason is love of God wanting to be in tune with the Holy Spirit flowing through the body of Christ Jesus. The less power of our flesh the greater the freedom in the Spirit, but it still does not solve a problem spiritual for a body member, so don't be fooled into self-righteousness.
How can we say that? We can say that because it a truth, it is faith that solves all problems for the body of Christ Jesus, a person can eat, or not eat, and still have the “gift of faith”, Yes! Faith is a gift of God too each body member, a part of the fruit of His own Spirit. So where a member of the body of Christ believes/puts faith in God, nothing is lacking for them, and this a truth, and a promise too us. Now when Christian's take the flesh out of the way, that is, making a pleasing appearance in their flesh and go to where no one but God can see them, into the body of Christ, as a slave of Christ body most will loose their interested in fasting.
