James 3:7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and thing in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind.
3:8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Why is our tongue so relentlessly evil? It is because it is connected to our fleshly mind feeding an evil heart flowing from our mouths judgments of death toward each other. We cannot tame it, we can lie a little more about our good motives, but the truth of God is we are all liars. This James points out here, as did Paul's, and Christ Jesus; when some people hear the truth they cannot bear it, they cover their ears, and run to someone that will make them feel good.

But Christ does not do that, what Christ does is speak truth because he is the truth and than we can come up to God's love in Him helping us by forgiveness until He perfects our faith. We speak evil that is a truth, why do we speak evil, it is because we are all sinners, and most of us do not understand the bibles definition of evil, lets put it another way, what is God's own definition of evil? All sin is evil, and all humans are sinners so they speak evil of each other. God is love, which is not evil, there is no evil in God, unlike we humans, whom are sinners, God speaks truth in love.

What did God use to teach and judge mankind he is evil, and/or sinful? The law! Yes the law, for without the law there is no evil judged by God, that is a legal truth that mankind legal mind may hate, but it is God's truth. So where there is Judgment of law, evil, and/or sin increases. So what does the human tongue do, but increase sins by judgment in adding more laws when someone sins? Yes, the fleshly mind is death it always runs to judgments, and when it fails it add greater judgment until its set the flame of eternal death into motion Gehenna.

Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

Romans 3:20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

If one is bitten by a serpent having four more serpent bit them will not solve the problem! If we are condemned by God's laws, how is adding more laws going to uncondemn us? But this is the foolish reasoning of the fleshly mind alienated from the mind of Christ that knows the truth of our sinful condition as death, and knows God is good, who sent us salvation by delivering us from sin by Christ Jesus abolishing the law for us by his merit, and righteousness.
Romans 4:15 For the law works wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.
