Daily Bible Thought > Matt.6:19 - Where Are Your Treasures?

Matt.6:19 "Don't lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; 6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don't break through and steal.

What are treasure upon earth? They are treasure sought and gain by the fleshly mind for credits or rewards by other human in their flesh. What do we seek? Well, most Christian's will say treasures in heaven, but the bible teaches most professing Christianity are weed Christian's seeking the praise of men, just like God's people Israel did when Christ Jesus came to earth.

Where is the deception? It is found in the fleshly mind that takes God's word the bible and makes it into food for the legal minded for weed Christian's, what does this mean? It means what does the fleshly mind know? It knows nothing of God by Holy Spirit so what it knows is the rules and laws of the sinful flesh that created our world alienated from the mind of Christ Jesus, that is, its world and what it seeks even if it uses God's word. The world seek treasure upon earth in all aspects of it life the same as those in false religion, seeking fame, position, and the approval of man.

All things tangible or intangible of mankind will perish in Christ Jesus Christ coming Kingdom, why? It is because the world as we know it will perishes and the works in it for it is not of God, nor its desires, so what pattern has God left us for those things that will not perish?The pattern he set in order and the creation of Adam upon earth, the pattern of perfection without sin and corruption of the fleshly mind that has built the unrighteous world we live into day.

Christ Jesus is the finish work of God, he is the last Adam subsequently, any workings outside of the mind of Christ Jesus will not stand as works approved by God. Yes, Christ Jesus has become the human race righteousness imputed too us so we can have the mind of Christ Jesus that produce only good fruit upon the tree of life. Christ Jesus works in us and through us by his mind is our treasure in heaven that will be rewarded by God, not some earthly mind set upon treasure of the fleshly mind, No! They must, and will perishes.

1Cor. 3:11 For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. 3:12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble;
3:13 each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is. 3:14 If any man's work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. 3:15 If any man's work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire. 3:16 Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?
