Matt.6:23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

How great is the darkness for those existing in the land of the dead without light from the light of Christ Jesus, very dark in all their ways, thinking they are wise. There is no light outside of Christ Jesus God's one place of light for the human race, no matter how great the legal wranglings of weed-fleshly-minded Christian's are.

Matthew 4:16 the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned."{Isaiah 9:1-2}

Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

When a person professing Christ steps out of the mind of Christ Jesus, into the mind of the flesh, which mind is dead in Christ Jesus, they step out of the light, into self-righteousness. This light from self, even if it uses the bible saying; Lord! Lord!, It is still darkness! The fleshly mind believes it can know the mind of Christ by laws, laws written in their bibles, they believe keeping the commandments of God is the light of this world.

John 1:16 From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.
1:17 For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

But those with the mind of Christ have light in them, for they are in the light, what does this mean? It means, they are in Christ Jesus, and he is in them, as the light, by the Holy Spirit, which teaches God's children the truth of God, what is the truth of God? The law of love, which is God Himself, the King, the Royal Law, because God is love. There nothing of the flesh existing in Christ Jesus mind, so neither can there be the unrighteous judgments of the fleshly mind.

John 16:13 However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

John 20:22 When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit!

Christ Jesus is from above free of death, and sin, those of the fleshly mind are in a state of proving themselves righteous by wrangling over laws that are dead in Christ to prove they are righteous. They are captives too darkness, they are not raised in Christ Jesus, into the wonderful light. They are from below existing in darkness, of sin and corruption thinking they are in the mind of Christ Jesus by teachings from their bibles.

John 3:31 He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the Earth belongs to the Earth, and speaks of the Earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

Ephesians 2:6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
