Daily Bible Thought > James 3:14 - Jealousy Ambition Lying Against Truth

James 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth.

Can a person be “in The Truth” while having these evils, and fears in their hearts as James speak too here? Well no! So how had these brothers and sisters deceived themselves into believing they were in the truth yet knowingly having such unrighteous acts in their hearts towards one others?

Simply put, they were defining the word “truth” from a legal stand point, from their fleshly mind instead of being “in the truth” which is Christ Jesus, where there is no lie, what is the difference? The difference is doctrine, where attorney's of the bible think they have the legal right to hate and punish those not accepting their truth(s) from God's word the bible, instead of being in the truth, that is, the life of Christ Jesus, which has no works of the fleshly mind and heart in it. This deception is promulgated by our tongue that speaks truths from the bible while living a lie. So although, a person may speak truth from the bible their very hearts hate proves they are not “In The Truth” Christ Jesus.

Gal. 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,{or, faithfulness} 5:23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 5:24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let's also walk by the Spirit. 5:26 Let's not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.

How does one know they are deceiving themselves, simply put, they have these evils in their heart while preaching too others the Good News of God's Kingdom, which is peace, not hate, which hate is hidden by fear of judgment projected onto others. If one loves their enemies, and is praying for their enemies, and forgiving them, than, and only than, are they in the truth, which is the life of Christ Jesus. But if not they are lying against the truth, which is Christ Jesus, whom didn't do any of these things in his heart!
