James 4:3 You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
The basic problems we all have is which mind are we asking from? Its that simple, what are the fruits of the fleshly mind, and what are the fruits of the spiritual mind of Christ? We either have one, or the other, if we confess Christ Jesus as our savior?
The fleshly mind confuses itself with righteousness, and truth like an attorney judge of the law. Once it takes a principle from God's word and judges someone else with it, it creates hate, and than comes all the other works flesh James has just spoken above. The fleshly mind is dead in Christ, most Christian's have no idea why? To them the fleshly mind just sound bad that's all they know.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
But the fleshly mind is dead in Christ because, Christ removed our judgment by the rules and laws of the fleshly mind, which was hate and wrath, and this is why the fleshly minded person cannot know God. Because the fleshly mind is a judgment mind of good and evil the same sinful mind past on too us by Adam. Christ on the other hand, conquered this world in God's mind, something Adam and Eve could have done as well. Now Christ is free of the corruption of yeast of the fleshly mind, which is it judgments mind, judging from death, that is, sins laws.
James does not get into a legal argument here, he simply states what we must if we want the truth, he says: “here are the fruits from above and here are the fruits from below.” Now we have a choice do we lie by some righteous principle of the bible and practice the fruits from below calling them the truth, and than back them up with some doctrine from our faith, or do we confess them as evil? Do we look to people of our faith to justify are evil hearts towards others?
