Matt.7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Here Christ Jesus openly calls those listening to his words “evil” this evil comment included his disciples, but why? Well, first of all the definition of evil Christ speaks of is much different than what we call evil today, but why?

Evil too God is sin, sin entered into the world and so did death, its that simple. Death to God is an enemy to be defeated by the life of Son Christ Jesus. So Christ is pointing out the obvious truth that each Jew had to go to the altar of God for remission of their sin by innocent blood, because of sin, which sin is, evil. Than how could a good God without sin, hence, having no evil thought not, not do good towards His children asking him for help?

The mind of the flesh passed on by Adam sin created a evil mind set upon thoughts about God. Such thoughts are last to think in the Royal law of love, which is freedom. It is first to think in judgment by merit, asking itself: “have I done enough good for God today for him to reward me with help.”

The fleshly mind cannot, not think this way, unless it is with their own children, a fleshly mind could not imagine not helping their child. So Christ did as he always taught, which was to take the fear of the fleshly mind, and put it upon a much higher standard of God's love. The problem the fleshly mind is faced with is it must be put to death to be in the Christ, something the fleshly mind cannot do by its own will of good works. So God in His love would soon send these listening too Christ His promised Holy Spirit to put on the mind of Christ, so they could be translated into the love of Christ, away from the fleshly minds legal love of law - creating legal fleshly mind set upon laws of sin found in death of the flesh.
