Daily Bible Thought > Matt.7:27 - House Great Fall of Faith?

Matt.7:27 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell--and great was its fall."

Nothing could be so shocking as believing a person is right only to find out their entire life course was against the person they claimed to know and serve!

But how can such blindness exist, were there not some warnings, were their not some doubt, to push ahead, and get caught completely off guard? Well, certainly there were many red flags before the great fall into destruction of our own house of faith, but because of approval of men we ignored them. Here Jesus was speaking too the Jews whom trusted in themselves that they were righteous before God. How were they righteous before God, by obeying the law with a zeal!

Yes, they did love God's righteous law, they did all in their power to uphold it, and keep it, they trusted in their own good efforts that this conduct made them righteous. Yet, Christ was saying the foundation of their house was sand, and not the rock where the law was written upon. How could such a thing be, heaven and earth could be removed if a letter of their law went unfilled? Blinded by the righteousness of the law the house of Israel fall was great, the temple, Jerusalem, and one-million one hundred thousand Jew's destroyed by the disgusting thing causing desolation; the Roman army.

Yes, the Jew's trusted in their own righteousness, they did not see the blood of salvation upon the altar of God's mercy seat forgiving their sin against God's righteous law. No! They compared their efforts against others, not the truth, they were all sinners just like all nations upon earth without the blood of atonement. Subsequently, the nation killed the lamb of God, Christ Jesus. Many Christian's will says as those Jews did, look at my good works done in your Son name Christ Jesus, while blinding themselves by commandments of God. Yes, just like the Jews trusting in themselves, not realizing they are no better off than the nations without God imputing the righteous blood of Christ too them. In a gift of God's own goodness and righteousness and not theirs. Shocked caught in the same snare upon all those dwelling in the earth will be cry, not salvation as imagine by their righteousness in keeping the commandment's of God with a zeal.
