MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 1Cor.4:7 - Why Do You Boast?

1Cor.4:7 For who makes you different? And what do you have that you didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Everything in the world of the flesh is about climbing the mountain, putting a label on it, and claiming ownership of it, then bragging what it has done, and what it now owns in this life.

The finer the food, wine, and clothing, the better the flesh is, the more experience it has in material things the greater it becomes in the eyes of others, the luxury of life. This is the wisdom of the world, lusting to gain more, giving the flesh greater status. But Paul states the truth in Christ, in which the world looks down on, that is, all things are gifts of God's love to those in the body of Christ Jesus, so how can you brag about a gift, something you have done nothing in personal merit to earn? Much more so, how does a gift make you superior over other people in the same body that are also gifts too the body?

But this is the foolishness of the sinful flesh, striving, fighting, to claim territory as a victory of it success in this life. Now these Christian's Paul speaks too here were doing the same sick worldly thinking within the body of Christ Jesus! Although they were using God's word to justify their actions, nevertheless, the fruits were becoming ripe on the tree of good and evil producing more rotten fruitage in the works of the flesh. Yes, justifying the way, the personality of the sinful flesh, put a label on it to empower itself in pride, defending the label as an icon, promoting its history as though it has always been on earth, a way of life, then boast in it; “ we are the first, the best, the greatest, we have done it all, so don't challenge our authority.”

Once enshrined in the wisdom of the world you have an institution to brag in, and challenge anyone that would dare question an established organization supported by numbers, who would be so foolish not to go along with the wisdom of the many? Yes, from a lowly gift given in kind love at great cost to Himself in sending His own Son as carpenter we have proud egotistical men controlling and manipulating others with power of authority, stealing the very glory of God like robbers. This is the wisdom Paul was fight against, but this is the wisdom that would soon over grow the true wheat of God's planting into a world of falsely called knowledge that produces exactly the Father of lies personality in full bloom at the end of the weed-Christian's world as the Lord comes to separate the weed from the wheat.
