Luke13:4 Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem? 13:5 I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way."
Many Christian's like to believe when someone does something against them that God will somehow punishes the those causing them harm. This presumptuousness is touted too others as though they are somehow more righteous than others, so God must uphold their righteousness in destroying anyone not agreeing with them, have you ever meant someone like that?
Here Jesus was dealing with just such a case, somehow the words was out, those whom the tower of Siloam fell upon and killed was God's judgment upon them! The question each of us must ask in reading Christ Jesus words, who is good? Jesus stated the truth, for he was the truth; “One, and only one God!”, No! Not even Christ puts himself into the seat of God's judgment saying he was good.” But presumptuous weed Christian's certain do in saying how God punishes ones because they are a good Christian's. No! The only one that God calls good is Christ Jesus after he proved his faithful unto death and much suffering for us.
Luke 18:19 Jesus asked him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one--God.
There is only one righteousness that God authorizes, and calls good, not the law anymore, or the law of the land, it is the life of His own Son Christ Jesus, having the Royal law. For a person to be righteous they must receive God's righteousness in a gift of His love, called undeserved kindness. So if it is by undeserved kindness how can a Christian's think they are good enough for God to destroy their enemies?
We are under Christ Jesus righteousness thankfully, not fooled thinking man conviction or laws could make Christ Jesus unrighteous, No! Those laws of sin murder Christ Jesus, and many of Christ Jesus disciples. Those killing them sinned against righteous blood, not the person, but the gift of righteousness given each of them by Christ Jesus life, not their own. They had all been made part of the tree of righteousness, Christ Jesus imperishable life sealed into them by God's Holy Spirit.
So God could rightly uphold His Son's righteousness at anytime if He so chooses, but often as His Son requested from His Father was: “God forgives those sinning against the Son of man.” Those indwell by Holy Spirit as son's of God prove we are under unmerited kindness, by becoming perfect as our heaven Father is perfect in forgiveness, not killing our enemies.
Matt.5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, 5:45 that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. 5:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don't even the tax collectors do the same? 5:47 If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don't even the tax collectors do the same? 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
