MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Luke 13:6-9 - Wasting the Soil?

Luke13:6 He spoke this parable. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none. 13:7 He said to the vine dresser, 'Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?'
13:8 He answered, 'Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it. 13:9 If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.'"

Jesus uses a farming parable for a farming community to make a shocking profound statement too those Jews whom believed their entire society was of God, so God would uphold it forever. Sadly, the very history of Jew's faith should have taught them differently that God does not condone evil, what he does do, is allow each of us time for repentance giving us the innocent blood of a victim for remission of our sins against Him.

Weed Christian's need to take heed here in Christ Jesus parable because they are in unauthorized soil, they are taken up good soil and not producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit as God's planting of wheat Christian's are. The law was too produce repentance, and expectation for the Son of God, God's messiah coming that would take away the sins of the world, but instead the Jews became self-righteous producing not good fruit like the fig tree in Christ parable.

The soil they had been planted in was good soil of God's planting, but they refused the mercy of God, Christ Jesus, their hearts were not prepared, they were full of works of flesh, hating and judging each other unrighteously by laws they themselves could not keep without God's mercy the blood atoning their sins against God's law. They were lawless, without God's provided innocent blood, they became no better than a practicer of sin, like the nations the Jew's hated for their not having the law, making them unclean. Yes, they have missed the point of the whole law, they were unclean without the blood of animals, the law did not make them clean it was the blood.

So too weed Christian's will find the truth when the tree is cut down for taking up the soil that their powerful works did not make them clean it was indeed the humble blood of the pass-over lamb that makes the temple of God clean, the body of Christ, and not good works of obeying commandment's!

Matt.7:21 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 7:22 Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?' 7:23 Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.' (without the law of Christ Jesus, hence, lawless.)
