MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Luke 13:10-17 - Learn Mercy?

Luke 13:10 He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day. 13:11 Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up. 13:12 When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your infirmity." 13:13 He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God. 13:14 The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, "There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!" 13:15 Therefore the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?
13:16 Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?" 13:17 As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed, and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

Here we see the perfect picture of legal-minded Jew's Vs. the Love of Christ Jesus. People so bound with the righteousness of the law they could not understand simple mercy any longer! Yes, today we have legal minded Christian's, weeds, that believe obeying the commandment's gives them the right to hate others people not, in their religion, and outside of their religion.

How wrong do they have it? So wrong that they like the adversaries of Christ above hate any kindness towards others that does not meet their version of the bible teachings. What rights did a Jew have that was not given too them by the innocent blood of animal victims, none! If God judged like they did, they were all convicted of deserved death for not keeping the law. How had they convinced themselves they could keep a law that a sinner cannot? By teaching it, and keeping some points of the law. Yes, they honestly believed the were righteous by good works towards the law, can you imagine their shock when Jesus seemingly violated their Sabbath day rest!
Can a weed Christians keep the law any better, no! But they tick themselves by lying saying they can keep the law of Christ Jesus, love! But they can't any more so than they can the Law of Moses, both need what? Blood of an innocent a victim. So when you here a Christian boast of keeping the commandment's of Christ Jesus they wittingly or unwittingly living by earning merit in keeping some of the law of love, but the blood of Christ proves they are a liar.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Only one kept the law of God, and the law of love, Christ Jesus, the rest of us must make a request of God for a clean conscience, but we can never put away the filth of our flesh by our good efforts. If its is by unmerited kindness of God it cannot be of our good works, if it is by undeserved kindness neither can their be a law put upon it preventing us from a good act towards our neighbor out love.

5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,{or, faithfulness} 5:23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is “no law”.
