John 4:25 The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah comes," (he who is called Christ). "When he has come, he will declare to us all things." 4:26 Jesus said to her, "I am he, the one who speaks to you."
Shocking conduct by Christ Jesus. Christ didn't even tell his own disciples he was the Christ, he rather let them figure it out by his fruits, but here he directly contradicts his own actions? Moreover, we have found what stumbles legal minded Christian's; Christ and many of his apostles contradicting their own words, and/or actions, than those same legal minded Christian's going into all sorts of legal rational to make every thought and action fit perfectly into a contract that no one can question. The Samaritan woman knew about the coming messiah, but she herself questioned if Christ Jesus was the one? However, the thought she quoted was that the messiah would openly reveal all things, but he did not, at least not the way the legal mind thinks.
John 5:36 But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John, for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me.
So what are we to think? We are to thinking in love, in the freedom of the law of love, which has no laws against it. In other words, love cannot be contain in a legal action, but why? Because love acts from love, not from laws and rules. It see a need to show love and acts in the other person best interest, in this case the Samaritan's woman eternal interest.
1 John 3:23 This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.
Christ did not go back to some written doctrine and say: “let see here, I am going done this list of dos and don't, I see this is a woman not a Jew, lets see what should I do or not do? I was sent only too the Jewish faith by my Father, I will walk on by.”
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.
No! Love has no laws against it from sins laws to laws of some religion, love acts from love towards the person that which we owe each other.
1 John 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice{"atoning sacrifice" is from the Greek "hilasmos," an appeasing, propitiating, or the means of appeasement or propitiation--the sacrifice that turns away God's wrath because of our sin.} for our sins.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.
