Rom.10:19 But I ask, didn't Israel know? First Moses says, "I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, with a nation void of understanding I will make you angry."{Deuteronomy 32:31}
The law was the pride of Israel, such understanding of the law legally blinded them to any real understanding of God/YHWH. Subsequently, stumbling most of the nation when God sent them the Christ whom so seemingly disobeyed their legal understanding of God's law that they murder him.
God stretch out his hand time and again to Israel for thousand's of years. but she refused in self-righteousness by the law. Yes, is it not the law, when a person violates the law which cause most people jealousy producing angry? Jealousy of getting away with what others obey, causing anger and jealousy. Yes, the self-righteous nation of Israel hated the surrounding nations and their conduct, because they understood the law, this self-righteousness only caused them hate when God used these same nations to discipline his own people Israel. Now think about this, it did not humble this nation into saying: “If my enemy has power over us, and God is allowing this because Israel cannot be brought down by any nation unless we have done something wrong perhaps we better find out why.?”
James 2:12 So speak, and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom. 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
But what did Israel do, they hated more because of the unrighteousness of the nations, they failed to get it, and that is the problem with legal people, Jew's or otherwise, they fail to understand God's righteousness, they are so caught up in looking to each other blaming each other they cannot see the truth, and what is the truth?
The truth is Israel was not redeemed by the law, it only served to condemn, convict, and punish them as unrighteous sinners, just as it did the nations Israel was judging with the same law. Here than is the blinding of law. Christian's are so busy judging their conduct against those not Christian's or some other faith that they have created a competition just wanting to be better, not concerned with the truth. They are just like every other fleshly nation on earth, practicing the same works of the flesh in trying out doing their opponents.
James 2:9 But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.
Subsequently, a war of flesh words, quoting bible verses condemning and being condemned. But the truth is Israel stood by the blood on the altar and Christian's stand by the blood of Christ, not in being declared righteous by laws, rules, and/or commandments. We are all sinners without Christ Jesus righteousness.
James 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously"? 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."{Proverbs 3:34} 4:7 Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
