A work of law, is a work of obeying some law of an authority, rather of God, and/or man's laws. A dead work mean outside of God's works for eternal life. One person is eternal life for all Christian's, which is Christ Jesus. There is no other work that stands or can be built upon by a Christian's, what does this mean?
John 4:34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.
John 6:27 Don't work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him."
First, to do God's work a person must be sinless, why? Because God's Kingdom is incorruptible, without sin, like the eternal life rewarded Christ Jesus. Subsequently, unless a person becomes a part of the one eternal life for salvation (Christ Jesus), they cannot do God's works, but how does a person become a part of Christ Jesus, is it by a work of law?
John 6:28 They said therefore to him, "What must we do, that we may work the works of God?"
Hence, here is the real question, can they be good enough, by obedience to become part of the eternal life of Christ Jesus? Can they obey God's commandment to love our neighbor and become part of the incorruptible life of Christ Jesus, meaning walking sinless before God by obedience? Does a law, a work of law, make a person righteous before God?
John 6:29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
Subsequently, can they preach enough to earn a good name with God and become a part of the life of Christ Jesus? Can they judge people with God's law and say: “Look at me, I stood up for you, I am good enough to be your good works!”
John 6:30 They said therefore to him, "What then do you do for a sign, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you do?
The tree of Adam cannot produce God's good works, it was corrupted from Adam's sin, hence, what comes from Adam is more dead works, because Adam is dead to God, because of his sin. Can a person be born of Adam, and start doing God's good works and remove the sin of Adam from themselves, saying: “ I have eternal life, because I do the works of God!” No! No!, and no! God must provide us a new tree of life without corrupted fruit from Adam's sin, He must than graft us into a tree having good works, incorruptible good works than we have God's good works, but why? Because they are not our good works from sin and death. But how does one abolish sin? Hence, that which sins must die to stop sinning, than it must be resurrected into a new life without sin, now where indeed do you think that life is?
John 17:4 I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do.
Is it in a religion, is it found in preaching, is it by obeying one of the commandments of God, is it by teachings we are saved, or is it in the one eternal life for God's salvation, Christ Jesus? Now we have a really problems, because there is nothing we can do to give ourselves salvation, no matter how we want it, or fight our evil to have, its, we can pluck out both eyes, and we can kill everyone not accepting our truth, we can throw their name out a wicked, we can jealousy guard each word of the bible legally incorporating it into a massive religion but we can not be good enough to graft ourselves into Christ by human works, why?
Romans 4:5 But to him who doesn't work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
Because the very first step is death, and the last step is a resurrection into the life of Christ, both performed by God's power, not ours. Now if we are allowed, it has to be by someones else good works, and not ours, so we must be at someones mercy, and we better hope He is not lying because we have no power to find God, or know God, unless God gives us His Son life!
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.
So what ungrateful slave would preach to others lying telling them they can make it into Christ Jesus life by works of law. Much more so, what type of a slave would become self-righteous after becoming part of God's true righteousness, Christ Jesus, and demand others to preach good works? You see, no good tree produce corrupt fruit, by why are all these corrupt people with sin, saying it is by their own good works of obeying God's commandments that a person no longer has sin?
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
You see, if its not by a person life, or works they are resurrected into the God's good tree, how can they than say its their good works. Does the fruit on a good tree boast that it has produced itself, by self efforts. Have you every heard a fruit on a vine brag and demand obedience too a tree that's not theirs? Are their many seeds that grew this tree, some with sin, and some without, or one seed of God's planting and all other from that sinless seed?
Romans 11:16 If the first fruit is holy, so is the lump. If the root is holy, so are the branches.
Romans 11:18 don't boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you.
Does the seed that grows into a human body have many seeds, one for a hand, one for a foot all having their own individual good works boasting to the head of the body over how righteous they are from preaching judgment?
