Rom.11:13 For I speak to you who are Gentiles. Since then as I am an apostle to Gentiles, I glorify my ministry; 11:14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them. 11:15 For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead?
Here, Paul posses a complex set of questions, but to whom? To the Jews and Gentles alike. He first tells the truth in Christ that he is appointed by Christ to be an apostle to the Gentles. He then state, he has glorified his ministry not himself, what does this mean? It means, Paul has glorifies Christ, by Christ working in him, and through him, then he shared this Good News with the Gentiles, which was the world to the Jewish faith. Furthermore, Paul's writings, and his preaching to the Gentles in explaning the old law indepth, and new covenant law, provoked some Jews to jealousy, in what way?
Romans 9:8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as a seed.
Romans 8:8 Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
The Jews were fleshly people they hated each other by God's laws, judging harshly onto death those not agreeing with them. Moreover, they were God's chosen people through Abraham's seed, but here Paul a teacher, and a former high ranking member of the Jewish faith was giving God's promises of a ruling class of kings priest too the Gentles! Shocking! Yes it was, certainly to a fleshly minded people, provoking them too jealousy.
Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.
Let us remember those possessing God's Holy Spirit do not posses things like a dog does a bone, they are under the law of Christ, love. They are givers, and shares of God's love; such is not the case of a legal minded Jew or, Christian for that matter. Now Paul says these possessive Jews whom killed those not obeying their rule of law rejected God's love too them, in Christ Jesus, by their rule of law, although, claiming it was from God, His judgments of justice, they still killed God's own Son Christ Jesus.
John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
Did God reject them for such conduct? Will, if that were true individually, Paul himself would not be writing here about God's undeserved kindness towards Jews and Gentles alike. So God's people rejected Him. Yet, God completed what faith should have moved this nation into, accepting Christ. God closed one system of things for a New Heaven's and Earth, in Christ Jesus, where His righteousness dwells for God's people today!
1Cor.1:28 and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are: 1:29 that no flesh should boast before God. 1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.
Yes, God rejected His physical temple service, which atoned for sin by animal blood. He allowed his Son Christ Jesus to complete the old covenant, and its laws in favor of a superior law of love. This rejections of the nation as a whole (their service at the temple), the very system God set up and its government. but world, and/or Gentiles, could not be reconciled to God through animal blood. The old world (Jewish system of things) or through the old earth, a Gentile could not be reconciled, but only a Jew born into the nation by linage.
Now if some of those Jew rejecting Christ were to reconsider their faith that would mean coming back to life under a new covenant being reconciled to God through the blood of Christ, and not animals blood under a physical temple, but a new spiritual, and superior temple, Christ Jesus. If not, they'd remain in death spiritually having no sacrifice for their sins left, hence, living in dead works under a physical temple, and its laws, rejected now by YHWH.
Romans 2:23 You who glory in the law, through your disobedience of the law do you dishonor God?
Hence, without the blood of animal sacrifice upon the altar one is disobedient to the law having no justification from God for their sins!
