MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Luke.13:6-9 Cut it Down!

Luke.13:6 He spoke this parable. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none. 13:7 He said to the vine dresser, 'Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?'
13:8 He answered, 'Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it. 13:9 If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.'"

Rather than approaching Christ Jesus parable from a legal point of view. lets speak to Spirit and truth. All created things have a purpose, unlike those believing we come from evolutions. One created thing supports the life or another created thing. Hence, a fruit tree is created too produce something good for others, it is not planted, and cultivated for no purpose.

God planted the nation of Israel for a purpose to produce good fruits of repentance, and faith in God for ones means of salvation extended for all the world. Here, just above in Christ words he rebukes those that thinking sins are according to human legal thinking, of good, bad, and worst. Christ proves all humans are under the death sentence because of sin passed on too us by Adam; sin is death it is not in degrees of good, bad, and worst death! Now he speaks of God's purpose in planting something so grand a fruit tree that will remove the sins of Adam. Which fruit tree holy in root, produces the reality of tree of life; missing from Adam sin in the Garden of Eden, Christ Jesus, the tree of life.

Romans 3:9 What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.

But what kind of fruit? The fruit of law to punish the wicked, or the fruit of Holy Spirit, faith? If it be by law of the flesh, than the tree must be cut down, and judged in the fire of legalism, because it is not the tree of life. It is the Spirit which gives us life, if it is by Spirit than it is by faith because faith is fruit of the tree life. But did the tree of Israel, of God's planting, produce faith? No! It produce fruits of death for most of Jewish religion. The Jews were stuck in righteousness through the law, they could not stop judging because they believed their righteousness came by works towards the law of God's and its commandments. But if they had faith they would have not killed the Son of God.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

They would have noted the blood on the Altar of God, as atonement of their sin for breaking of the law, thus, if you break one point of law you break all the law. However, they were deceived by their own self-righteousness, how? Because they could keep some of the law outwardly, making them think they were better, righteous, and/or superiority to others sinners, but they weren't, which is why they had no faith. Faith was not by works of law, keeping some of it outwardly, no! Faith in forgiveness of our sins for being a person that cannot keep the law or deliver themselves from sin by works of law. Hence, the need for a Savior, a human that could keep the law without sin, purchasing us from death of sin completely!

James 2:9 But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. 2:11 For he who said, "Do not commit adultery,"{Exodus 20:14; Deuteronomy 5:18} also said, "Do not commit murder."{Exodus 10:13; Deuteronomy 5:17} Now if you do not commit adultery, but murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 2:12 So speak, and so do, as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom.

The Jews were happy with a partial savior/atonement, while keeping parts of the law outwardly, and using the blood selectively for what sins they thought they might not have kept so well. Missing the whole point of being saved completely by the blood of Christ. Similarly, we find the same attitude by partially saved Christian's accepting Christ blood only for the commandments they can't keep, while outwardly thinking they are justify by keeping some commandments. These have determined their own righteousness by doing works of law, their own law, partial judgment, and not the law of Christ.

1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
