MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > John.15:4 - Tree Bear Fruit, or Fruit Bear the Tree?

John.15:4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can't bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 15:5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Here is one of the most profound statements every made, and being made from Christ the Truth of God its depth of truth is so deep it way over the head of most Christian's. Nothing in nature tells a Christian's that growth on a tree or a vine comes from a branch, or a fruits own life. Yet, so many Christian's do not believe this creation truth when its comes to their spiritual lives in producing fruit for God.

Romans 8:12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Christian's will fuss and lie to no end in telling you how you must obey some rule from the bible or their religion to produce God's fruit of Holy Spirit in yourselves. But Christ says he is the source of life producing fruit of God, not us, was Christ Jesus a liar? Did he mean that we could individually produce the gifts/fruit of Holy Spirit separately by our own efforts in obedience to a religion or commandments in the bible?

James 3:12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water.
3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth.
3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 3:18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

That is a choice which separates wheat Christian's from weed Christian's in walking by sight or in faith. If one walks by faith knowing they have no good thing dwelling in their sinful flesh, which has been put too death in Christ, than the words of Christ here makes perfect sense. But if they have a fleshly legal mind, which is, a weed Christian's mind, by works of law, dead works, not in Christ, Christ words here are meaningless babel alienated from God by the physical person mind and heart.

1Cor.2:14 Now the natural man doesn't receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can't know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 2:15 But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one.

Christ profound statement tells spirit lead Christian's in Christ to rest in faith, all things of Christ Jesus life will be supplied to them through the life force within the holy righteous tree they were grafted into, but you must rest in the God's great Sabbath day the life of Christ Jesus.

Matthew 7:18 A good tree can't produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.

On the other hand, to a fleshly minded person, Christ words here are yet, one more judgment from a lack of faith. One must earn salvation through works of law to be a part of the vine, the life of vine does nothing for weed-Christian, they must do its all by the power of their own flesh in obedience to rule of law producing fruit from such obedience to religious and biblical laws.
Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

Romans 3:20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
