MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Luke 13:28-30 - Weeping Gnashing of Teeth!

Luke.13:28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside. 13:29 They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God. 13:30 Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last."

Christ Jesus audience was the Jews here, they regarded themselves as privileged, chosen of God in the position of Abraham seed, all of which was true. However, not unlike many Christian's today in organized religion, they forgot why God loved Abraham?

John 8:39 They answered him, "Our father is Abraham." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham didn't do this.

Abraham was not loved because of his association with a certain group, this is deception of group thinking, which proved to be the down fall Jewish faith time and again in its history as a nation. Abraham was loved for going against group thinking rejecting man and doing God's will despite the logic of human wisdom. Here in their mist was God's Kingdom reality rejected by their nation, but doing the works of God yet the fear of man caused most of them to reject the Christ.

John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it, and was glad." 8:57 The Jews therefore said to him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?" 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM.{or, I am}" 8:59 Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus was hidden, and went out of the temple, having gone through the midst of them, and so passed by.

There can be no more bitter experience than rejecting the very Kingdom of God, while those with one-tenth an illustrious linage and education takes your seat in the Kingdom of God. Yes, as Christ warned when seating oneself at the head of a table thinking we are deserving of power and attention only to be invited to the back of the room or too leave Kingdom in front of other guest.

Matthew 27:29 They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"

Luke 14:10 But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you, 'Friend, move up higher.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.

This was the experience of most of Israel, and the down fall of those today boasting as heir of God's Kingdom, calling themselves God's faithful and discreet slave before such an appointment has yet been made. Christ Jesus is that faithful and discreet slave put in charge of our faith, he was publicly rewarded that position by God/YHWH, not man, and man should learn from past lesson before publicly rewarding themselves a position in placing oneself at the head of the table before invited to do so by the King, only to find rejection and weeping and gnashing of their teeth.

Luke 17:7 But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say, when he comes in from the field, 'Come immediately and sit down at the table,' 17:8 and will not rather tell him, 'Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink'? 17:9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not. 17:10 Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.'"
