John.15:20 Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his lord.'{John 13:16} If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 15:21 But all these things will they do to you for my name's sake, because they don't know him who sent me.
Can the hand on the body of Christ not receive the same treatment as the body of Christ? Can a person educate the flesh not to attack the spirit? Is the mind of flesh opposed to the truth as day is to night? Sadly, our own fleshly mind tries hard to make peace between the flesh and the Spirit of God, but it cannot be done. The truth is peace cannot be made between flesh by the Spirit only compromise, polluting the light into darkness calling evil good.
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
Christ never tried, nor did he worry himself trying to logic as to why the flesh hated the Spirit of God, do you honestly know why? God's own righteousness was opposed to Satan the Devil in the Garden of Eden, God did not logic explaining why He was hated, or why sin is opposed to His righteousness, it is an everlasting truth. Many Christian's do not understand a simple truth, when Christ completed or took our judgment he did so by completing the law judging us, most understand this, but they don't understand Christ than became God's righteousness. The law expressed God's righteousness, now Christ became YHVH righteousness.
2 Timothy 1:10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Good News.
1:30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.
Hence, the hand on the body of Christ has God's righteousness, as Christ is God's righteousness, the conclusion of the matter, the age old prosecution continues. How can one be a branch, or fruit on the tree of true vine and not be hated? This is the context of Christ word here. The sinful flesh is not reformable, we within ourselves have a war with flesh against the Spirit each day as God's children, but we cannot educate the flesh to be nice and give us peace we want now, can we?
Galatians 6:12 As many as desire to look good in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
Colossians 2:23 Which things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but aren't of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
Galatians 5:24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
There are massive religious organization of fleshly minded people that will not be reformed into spirit person by education, they will not covert in massive numbers as some have imagined, from flesh into a son of God, by teaching them they are wrong, why? Sadly, it is the death of the flesh that allows the truth to exist. Individually within these groups will, at God's own will, through a painful experience in persecuting the son's of righteousness, causing them to hate their own flesh more, than Christ righteous indwelling a body member.
Galatians 4:29 But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; 7. because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be. 8. Those who are in the flesh can't please God.
