MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Rom.9:25,26. - Not My People Children of God?

Rom.9:25 As he says also in Hosea, "I will call them 'my people,' which were not my people; and her 'beloved,' who was not beloved."{Hosea 2:23} 9:26 "It will be that in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' There they will be called 'children of the living God.'"{Hosea 1:10}

Although, the flesh boast in its pride, God has never been impressed with numbers, titles, or position(s). Despite Israel constant boast of being God's people by association through linage God chose hearts faithful to him. Although, Israel used God's righteous law, it did not save the majority of them.

John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

This is Paul's message to the Roman's congregation, and to us, the nation was formed by one man's faith, not many faithful men and woman, but one. Moreover, God would save members therein by one man's faith in the name of Christ Jesus. Those of the body of Christ whom had been saved by their faith must remember it was not because of the impressive history of Israel, but faithful men and woman found within Israel that God favored them and saved them!

John 1:13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 1:14 The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

1 Corinthians 1:26 For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;

1 Corinthians 1:29 that no flesh should boast before God.

In other words, don't get the horse before the cart, God's save Israel not because it was Israel, but for love of Abraham, and faithful men and woman throughout the history of Israel. Now God was looking to the nations for son's of God with no illustrious history, but hearts of faith. Sadly, many Christian's today live only for serving God behind an institution, and not faith like Abraham. They are quickly snatched up in the age old thought of acceptance by numbers rejecting, and judging others not of their faith as inferior. Here the Gentiles like the Jews in Paul's time wanted leadership, and/or kingship over them like all great nations of earth have in top positions of power.

Luke 22:25 He said to them, "The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called 'benefactors.'

Just as Israel herself clamored for a king over her, so to Christian's clamor for human king like leadership over them, but God has long ago rejected earthly leadership for a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, placing Christ by faith over us, so we walk not in sight, but in faith and worship not by sight of fleshly men and woman leading us, but in Spirit and truth leading us in the invisible King Christ Jesus, like Abraham proving our faith in God's love.
1 Samuel 8:10 Samuel told all the words of Yahweh to the people who asked of him a king. 8:11 He said, This will be the manner of the king who shall reign over you: he will take your sons, and appoint them to him, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and they shall run before his chariots; 8:18 You shall cry out in that day because of your king whom you shall have chosen you; and Yahweh will not answer you in that day. 8:19 But the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel; and they said, No: but we will have a king over us.

Heb.1:1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 1:2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.
