MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > Matt.7:12. - The Golden Rule?

Matt.7:12 Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

Not many of us would condemn another person if in fact we believed Christ words spoken here. The law judges a person as an object not a human being, it separates the person from emotion into a define statutory crime by law that must be dealt with though punishment of law, instead of a human being.

John 8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

In other words, the best mankind can hope for is justice by law, which is lacking. Human cannot read hearts, nor the circumstance of why a person did evil, but they can define an evil by a law, and put the person into the box of the law in order to punish and keep society safe and orderly.

1Tim.1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man uses it lawfully,
1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;

God is mankind's rightful judge able to read hearts and render complete justice in all his ways. But there is more for us as Christian's God did not create mankind to be a rightful judge, he created mankind without sin as a heavenly Father, not a judge of law. Once God gave mankind his law, none where found righteous, all were pronounced sinners. None of us could by judging evil in others created life without sin.

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

Here than was the point of Christ words spoken above, which is, what was the purpose of the law and the prophets, was it to judge? Or was it, to produce life? If it were a step towards life, than it must be more than dealing with a problem of crime now, it would be the fulfillment of the law and the prophets was to treat others as you wanted to be treated? Was this possible for sinful human, hardly, but it was the hope that will bring forth the reality in Christ. Soon God himself would treat others how he wanted to be treated, but how?

Hebrews 7:19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy became our father again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

God/YHWH the great law giver would become a Father to children on earth, creating sons of God, sinless son's of God, by a new birth out of sin and death into a new life Christ Jesus. God went beyond the law and prophets into love for mankind and sent his Son Christ Jesus to fulfill the law judging us into death. How do you judge, with life in view or death, what hope do you give your brothers and sisters, human in general?

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you. 4:11 Don't speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. 4:12 Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
