MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > John.3:11,12. - Teaching Earthly Things?

John.3:11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don't receive our witness. 3:12 If I told you earthly things and you don't believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

The human assumption is for those loving their bibles, everything in the bible is based upon facts, facts proven by other human's through research, comparing earthly things with earthly things. But here Christ stuns a high ranking priest/teacher Nicodemus with a simple question one that each of us must also face in our own faith at some point, which is? How do we speak of heavenly things with authority if we are not a part of the heavens? We can speak about all things earthly by education and experience, but even than there are many false prophets claiming they know “the truth” so how much more unseen spiritual things?

John 1:14 The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 6:63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

Compounding the problems further if a person does not believe Christ whom came down from above like no other person walking among them. If you can't believe the greatest witnesses of truth about the Father how indeed is one going to unravel spirit things by earthly teachings? To the making of many books has no end, which is vanity, and tiresome. Hence, trying to understand spiritual things by earthly teaching with a fleshly mind is as unobtainable, the greatest chasm in the universe, its like trying to change the lie into the truth.

Romans 7:18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.

Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

Romans 8:7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can it be.

The two are literally worlds apart, sinful flesh cannot know Spirit its of no value at all in knowing God, it cannot cross over into God's Kingdom by comparing earthly things against earthly things. Yet, this is the foundation stone all false religion is build upon because the flesh is prideful, it refuses to believe it can't unravel the bible by human intellect, human wisdom. Nicodemus one of the highest teacher in Israel was overwhelmed he could see Christ works, knowing they were from God, but simply could not find anything within his law to justify them. What a fearful reality, judging righteous blood by a law created for sinners.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

Acts 7:52 Which of the prophets didn't your fathers persecute? They killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers.

How can we judge correctly heavenly things by things of this earth? Specifically, a mind sold under sin by a perfect law from heaven that judges us as unrighteous? If we are a wise person our whole premise of truth is flawed, we thought we knew God, and was willing to die for such truth and even kill other in the name of truth, but now Christ the Truth is telling us, we can't understand by our teachings of the fleshly mind born under sin. Moreover, he knows our fleshly mind will reject his witness of the Father's truth!

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now I say this, brothers,{The word for "brothers" here and where context allows may also be correctly translated "brothers and sisters" or "siblings."} that flesh and blood can't inherit the Kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.

1 Corinthians 6:16 Or don't you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, "The two," says he, "will become one flesh."{Genesis 2:24}

2 Corinthians 5:16 Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
