MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > John 3:30 - Increase or Decrease?

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

John the Baptist understood what may fleshly minded Christian's cannot, and what is that? That truth of God is not a competition, it is not of the values espoused by this world. There are so many whom feel that the thoughts and emotions of this world must be expressed in biblical terms so their message can be validated as truth. But such non-sense was not found in John the Baptist words, he knew without a doubt his ministry was not of his doing, nor of his strong message, or of his choosing.

He knew what fleshly minister never get, the size, and number of people in their ministry is by Holy Spirit, not of them, as to how nice, good looking, will educated, or politically correct they are. Sadly, every part of Satan system of things from government, commerce, and religion all uses the same fleshly promotional tactics to gain greater membership. John realized his ministry was ending, it would be completed by Christ fulfilling the law, no longer could John call the nation of Israel to repentance under the law of Moses.

John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

John the Baptist did not count numbers to prove he had God's blessing, he was not jealous of God's Holy Spirit upon Christ, no! He rejoiced in Spirit and truth. This entire part of the apostles John's letter is about Holy Spirit it was not about John the Baptist, or the disciples of Christ. They must come to understanding it was about the Holy Spirit working in them as a vessel of God words revealed to mankind. Shortly that same Holy Spirit would born anew each disciple of Christ they would be vessels for God's words to mankind. It was not a personal message unless they put themselves first, that is, in the way of the Word, Christ Jesus working in and through them.

2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
