MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 1Tim.1:9,10. The Law for Sinners?

1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine.

Here the apostle Paul states the everlasting stunning truth, the truth that divides the wheat from the weed, the truth that separates the sheep from the goats, the truth of all truth(s) of grace/unmerited kindness, and/or undeserved kindness. The righteous spiritual law of God was for sinners, and not for the person made righteous and/or sinless by Christ blood.

Really, one has to look no further, this was the entire issues for the first century Christian's, one of the Christ Vs. Law, it was a subject difficult for many to grasp. How could God's righteous law not benefit those in Christ, wasn't it good? This burning issues was based upon emotion and not truth for those teaching law again, it was based on their personal agenda in a competition if you will, as to which was better the Law or Christ? Because there was no emotions involved in the law, it was a fact of law, it was not a competition at all, Christ was not in competition with God, and his righteous law. Christ was born under the law and completed the law simply because he was the only righteous man without sin that could in all the history of our world, this is a material fact of law proven by God himself through the law!

Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.

Matthew 5:17 "Don't think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn't come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Galatians 5:4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

Now Paul stunned those teaching the law, over the Christ, why the Christ if law be superior? Good question, because in Christ Jesus a person has been made sinless, how much higher could the law bring a person than that? Why would a person whom was declared sinless by Christ life want to go back to a law declaring them unrighteous as a sinners?

1 John 3:5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

1 John 3:6 Whoever remains in him doesn't sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him.

1 John 3:9 Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God.

This is the foolishness of self-merit by works of law. These teacher of law could not use the law lawfully by reinforcing it upon those made without sin in God's eyes through the blood of Christ Jesus. Hence, a sinless person does not need laws convicting them of sin, why? Because the law is for people whom are sinners as Paul stated above.

This is not an emotional issue based upon self-worth this is the truth based upon Christ worth, it is a gift we are unworthy of, its not something we can earn by obeying a law that could never declare a person sinless. No! The law as good and righteous as it was could not be completed by animal blood, it took more, the righteous blood of sinless holy lamb of God, Christ Jesus. It was his worth that purchase us from the curse and condemnation of God's law.

1 Corinthians 6:20 for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

The law could not united us with God it served as a wall between us and our sins, which kept us away from the needed Spirit and truth relationship all Son's of God must have. It was not a matter of keeping the law good enough it was truthfully that none could keep the law, and that is the reason Holy Spirit could not be pour out upon all flesh until Christ opened that door by giving us his perfect sinless life to redeem us from our sins, than the Holy Spirit could be pour out upon holy sinless vessels of God for His expressed purposes upon earth replacing that which was a physical temple of God washed clean by inferior animal blood.

Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition.

1Cor.3:16 Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?

Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"{Deuteronomy 21:23}

Romans 13:10 Love doesn't harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
