Daily Bible Thought > 1Tim.4:4-6 Nothing Rejected Received With Thanksgiving
1Tim.4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. 4:5 For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer. 4:6 If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed.
Is it the created thing of God which is unclean or the conscience of mankind under sin that is unclean? Mankind cannot be clean from sin, and death, death is its proof of that statement! We are clean by faith in a redemption from God, a redemption God has paid the price for to redeem us from our unclean thoughts and actions against his righteous clean law.
Matthew 23:26 You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that its outside may become clean also.
Romans 14:20 Don't overthrow God's work for food's sake. All things indeed are clean, however it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by eating.
Now some of these Paul was speaking to here, knowing the truth were falling away into misleading teachings of demons that mankind could make themselves clean by eating certain foods or not eating some foods by which the law called clean or unclean. The thinking was how could it be bad to restrict a certain food if God's law said so? However, the next logical step was that eating some foods made a person not clean, in that, making a person a greater or lesser sinner more clean by works of law. But the kingdom of God is not about eating something or not eating something because flesh is dead in Christ having no power over the spirit.
Romans 14:17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 8:4 Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day.
Romans 8:4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Here some of these brothers and sister were going back to teachings of demons whom mislead mankind into sin and destruction through what? Self-rightness in teaching some act of man could give them eternal life even if God did not want it so, correct? In other words, man is a god, and God has not told him the truth, so if we do certain works our goodness it will save us despite God. Those teachings now were being brought into the congregation of God innocently by declaring what the Jewish faith already knew though the law that certain foods were not good for a person health, but its did not mean, which is the whole truth that it would make a person a non-sinner if they abstain from certain food or more of a sinner in Christ if they ate certain foods. No ! Each Christian stood by faith in the redeeming blood of Christ Jesus. Moreover, each Christian sinful flesh was dead in Christ, God was not dealing with our sinful flesh any longer, he was dealing with us in Christ as a spirit person perfected in our faith by our sinful flesh in trials and tribulation upon earth.
Hebrews 7:19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
Eating or not eating did not make us perfect in flesh, nor in our spirit, the person had been made clean by their putting faith in Christ Jesus sacrifice for their sins, Each Christian had a clean conscience, not a clean fleshly body away from sin, no!
1 Peter 3:21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Haggai 2:12 'If someone carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with his fold touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any food, will it become holy?'" The priests answered, "No."
These brothers and sister must not try to gain salvation by things they ate or did not eat, furthermore, they must not enslave others to the teachings of demons by works of law, they are set free in Christ, having no judgment against them provided they walk in Spirit and truth in faith in what Christ had done for them and what God had given them by His undeserved kindness.
1 Corinthians 6:11 Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
Hebrews 10:22 let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water.
Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood.
