John 8:17 It's also written in your law that the testimony of two people is valid.{Deuteronomy 17:6; 19:15} 8:18 I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me."
Jesus says to those Jews whom he was speaking: “Your law”, not his law, but theirs, why? Because the law was for sinners, it was not created for a non-sinner, a righteous man. A righteous man is one that stand without the redemption needed by the blood of innocent victim. Adam before becoming a sinner did not need to offer up the blood of animal to God to be right. Adam needed no law of moral codes/conduct, he had God's righteousness written in him because he could commune with God at all times, like a spirit sons of God can, he was not disconnected from God by sin. Once Adam sinned death came to him spiritually than later physically because he could not commune with God his Father.
1Tim.1:9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 1:10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
Yes, the law was their law given too them because they were sinner needing to know God's redemption to stand right before God as his people, through his laws of righteousness. Because they all were sinners, to make a judgment against someone for punishment they must have two witnesses because they were sinners. But Christ didn't lie, nor was he a sinner, but nonetheless, when he did testify about the truth he always had a witnesses with him God his Father in Spirit, which is the truth.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.
Rom.3:4 May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, "That you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgment."{Psalm 51:4}
There is no lie in the truth, God cannot lie, and Christ Jesus is called the truth, and the way. Their witnesses was greater than all flesh here below, for what comes from above is greater than men, because men are unrighteous without God making them righteous by atonement, which the law point out to all that they are sinners. Those Jews thinking they were righteous because of the law wanting to trap the Christ in a lie only found themselves judged into eternal death.
Matt.7:1 "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged. 7:2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
Galatians 3:11 Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, "The righteous will live by faith."{Habakkuk 2:4}
John 3:31 He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the Earth belongs to the Earth, and speaks of the Earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
Nothing could be more foolish than to think one could judge what the law does not judge, a sinless man, one could make no greater mistake than comparing their righteousness against the Christ. A person must understand a righteous man without sin cannot be judged by a sinner nor God's law, because the law was created for the wicked, while declaring a sinless man righteous. In other words, Christ could not be condemned by the law, he could only be declared perfect by it deserving of everlasting life, the reward of the law for being sinless.
1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God doesn't sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him.
1Pet..2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you{TR reads "us" instead of "you"} an example, that you should follow his steps, 2:22 who did not sin, "neither was deceit found in his mouth."{Isaiah 53:9} 2:23 Who, when he was cursed, didn't curse back. When he suffered, didn't threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
