1John.1:1 That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life
The apostle John starts his letter from the beginning, what beginning? There is life and there is death, when did the brothers and himself come to know life? From the beginning of their new birth into life, into the life of Christ Jesus. This is the beginning of all things for God's anointed children, not the beginning of mans creation or their own birth into sin and death.
John 15:27 You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth.
The apostle John was even more specific stating that he and some still alive actually saw with their eyes, and touched with their hands the Word of life Christ Jesus. Although, we walk by faith some like John saw the marvelous works of the Son of God, but why did John need to make such a proclamation? Simply put, because there was many false teaching being told about Christ. Thus, the apostle John establishes his authority in Christ being a chosen, hand picked by God YHWH as one of Christ holy apostles. In other words, if you could not believe John than whom could one believe?
Revelation 21:14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
This Word of life the apostle John would faithfully and profoundly witness about in his letters; somethings are hard to understand in John's letters, but everything down to the least detail is in perfect harmony with the Word of life and the writing of the other apostles. John would set the foundation of truth upon the truth Christ Jesus, he will speak things of Spirit and truth that often frighten the flesh, for where the wind blows is where it wants, so too are those born not of flesh and blood, but of Spirit they are lead and taught by Spirit of God, they have the truth indwelling them with the Word of life.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John in his letter interlocks his information that no other apostle taught completing a powerful witness for God's children which will be used through the century until the Master comes, we can bless the Father for such a wonderful witness given to save us through the apostle John letters.
Rom.8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
