MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > 1Pet.5:10,11. - After You Suffered a Little While?

1Pet.5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 5:11 To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Many Christian's have been taught, that is, sold a bill of goods by religion, which is? They suffer in some fashion, for a time, and than its happy ever after on earth. This bill of goods is promoted by religion parading one happy ever after story in books, personal experiences, TV evangelism, selling people one of the most powerful desires of our flesh, happiness on earth right now after some suffering for Christ, pay the price quickly, and get the reward while on earth.

1 Peter 1:24 For, "All flesh is like grass, and all of man's glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls.

Our Father Jehovah's is a happy God, his greatest desire like any good Father is to have his children prosper and be happy. However, the problem is Satan has made the charged before God and angels that if a man suffers he will deny God to get out of the suffering. Which in looking at the many problems of our corrupted world in drugs, alcohol abuse, sexual addictions, the sheer lust for pleasure, and entertainment Satan claim has proved true for the most part! People want out of suffering, emotionally, mentally, and physically, we were not created to feel such pain and stresses from life on earth.

James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.

Sadly, many Christian religion's take the apostle Peters words here making up a law or doctrine and than find happy experiences to support their thinking to attract new membership and keep the ones they already have. But suffering a little while does not mean suffering a few short days according to human wisdom, it is rather a comparison of a human life time, to God's time of eternity, which is a little while. Yes, the hard truth is, we will suffer our entire life upon this earth if we are a son of God. We will be perfected in faith, we will become more settle in our trials with our relationship with God and Christ as love, we will learn nothing on this earth is of value until it is brought into subjection to the Christ, and united with God. We will not be tossed about like a wave wondering if our Father is good, and than evil. We will be established in Spirit of truth, which we learn to test error against, but suffering will not end because the life we carry with us is the life of Christ, and this world father, and ruler hates Christ righteousness. It is Christ righteousness that undoes all of his power of his rulership in deceiving the world. Christ will bring it down exposing it to the truth of God, and destroy every fiber of its rebellious thinking against God and the lies told by false religion about God's name, and/or personality.

2Pet.3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Matthew 12:36 I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

Peter speaks to all these subjects in his letter, the shortness of our life compared to God incorruptibility, the gold refined by fire by our trials -faith, the works of mankind being exposed like a fire that melts them into what they are foolishness, that will not stand as Christ returns.

Let us as Peter also speaks arm ourselves with this mental disposition of suffering for righteousness sake, let us not be angry, jealous of those having a happy prosperous life without suffering as though they are blessed, and we are cursed, let us speak truth with one another in love, if we suffer it is for the Lord, if we live its is for the Lord, and if we die it is for the Lord! We are not peddlers of the precious life of Christ Jesus or God's written word, it is enough, the truth by which we live and stand and endure to end in.

Let us also remember the apostle Peter died a violent death and most of those who were alive at the time Peter wrote his letter also died a violent death for being a Christian's there was no happy ever after story on earth for them.

1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.

Isaiah 40:5 The glory of Yahweh shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it." 40:6 The voice of one saying, "Cry!" One said, "What shall I cry?" "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.

1Pet.1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy became our father again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1:4 to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn't fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, 1:5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1:6 Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been put to grief in various trials, 1:7 that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ--
