John.8:43 Why don't you understand my speech? Because you can't hear my word.
What happens when you tell somebody the truth, and they don't want to hear it? Moreover, what happen when a person already has their mind made up about you, and you speak, what do they hear? But this was not the problem here, the problem here was those reading God's word the bible, they believed because they read it, and had been trained in it, they thought, they knew it, but did they? No one at the time of Jesus words spoke here knew the scriptures better than God's chosen people from infancy they were taught the Holy writings, but most could not hear the words of Christ, but why?
John 5:39 "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me. 5:40 Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life. 5:41 I don't receive glory from men. 5:42 But I know you, that you don't have God's love in yourselves.
Shocking and as profound as this revelation of truth was, none of us can understand God's words by reading are bibles alone, we must be taught it by God's Holy Spirit from above. It does not matter what school we go to, or religion we are affiliated with, or how many degrees in religion we have, if we don't have Holy Spirit we will misinterpret God's word the bible in speech and in actions. Not only will we not understand it according to God's thoughts, we will misjudge others with it, are you shocked?
Well, if what was just stated is the truth than each one of us must do what? Humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, and bow to Him alone, or we will miss the most important relationship we could ever have on earth, and in heaven. Let us be reminded, few will find the truth, not because knowledge is not abundant in the world over the scriptures, it is because most don't have have God's Holy Spirit teaching them from above!
Matt.7:13 "Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.
Revelation 3:22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies." These Jews were so convinced of accurate knowledge having had the scriptures inculcated into them from infancy they could not imagine their judgments about Christ were wrong, but they were dead wrong! Because of this Christ told them they could not hear his words, words said in Spirit and truth!
Romans 5:5 and hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
Who was Christ? Who is he to day? Yes, we can all says from our knowledge of scriptures who he was, and who he is, but are we indwelt with God's Holy Spirit? If not, we hear the words of our bible or from a man teaching us, but we do not hear the truth from God correctly.
1Cor.3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
1Cor.2:12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.
1John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him. 2:28 Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Many put faith in words taught from their bibles, by people that are in high position, but Christ did not come in a high position, if our heart is not searching for truth, than we would have missed Christ all together dismissing his words as wrong. Most back then followed Jesus not because of truth, but because of his miracles those were hard to deny, but when it came to his words few heard, why?
John 5:44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don't seek the glory that comes from the only God? 5:45 "Don't think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses, on whom you have set your hope.
Simply put, what is from above is from above, and what is from below is from below, Christ came from above, from, a spirit world into our world, he spoke the language of God, Spirit and truth, he did not distort words, by first putting them into an unrighteous heart tainted with motives of selfishness, for praise of men, for position, to be liked, to gain wealth, or just to be selfish in hearing what we want to hear. Christ was free of all that. What is from below cannot be truth, or have truth, because its is tainted by sin and will twist the truth to its own needs. But what is from above is free of the desires of flesh, and its corruption, this is why God sent his Son into the world so we could finally get a view of a glorious truth, found in the Son of God, but what was from below killed the truth.
Jer.17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? 17:10 I, Yahweh, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous; no, not one.
Now we must soberly ask ourselves: “ is what I know from above, or from below tainted with glory of men in high position known as teachers of God's word?” Do I want the pure unadulterated truth of God, although it condemns me in my fallen flesh? Do I want to come to know God in Spirit and truth or knowledge from the scriptures?
John 17:16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.
John 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.
