Daily Bible Thought > John 8:55. - " If I said, 'I don't know him,' I would be like you, a liar."
John 8:55 You have not known him, but I know him. If I said, 'I don't know him,' I would be like you, a liar. But I know him, and keep his word.
Can a person know someone by written word alone, can one know the spirit of love, the emotion, the tenderness of peace that comes from personal contact with that person? What we can do is impute our own feeling into the person writing the words, but we truly don't know them as Christ knew the Father, no words written in ancient scrolls or taught in the synagogues of the Jewish faith could know the Father as a son.
Rom. 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 8:15 For you didn't receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba{Abba is an Aramaic word for father or daddy, often used affectionately and respectfully in prayer to our Father in heaven.}! Father!" 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;
Christ intimately knew the Father as a son loved by a Father, in the greatest depth of truth and love, to deny that would mean to deny all that is righteous and good, to take second best from the teachers of Israel would by like Adam walking away from a paradise of love where every thought, smell, taste, and sight was created from a Father of love for him.
1 John 4:16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
Jesus was in constant contact with the very life of God flowing too him by Holy Spirit, the truth, not truth of written word on tablets of stone, but in person daily intercourse with God's love and feelings for his son, an inner change of two spirit feeding and cherishing each other. Is that your relationship with the Father, or are you a doctrine person putting all the emphasis on defending the written word with another spirit of conquering any that don't abide in your truth on paper? Here than was the problem for the Jews, here than is the problems for so many Christian's, God is real by only what motives from their own feeling they project into God by written word justifying their emotions as coming from God in using the bible.
James 1:19 So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; 1:20 for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God. 1:21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls{or, preserve your life.}. 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves. 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror; 1:24 for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does. 1:26 If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn't bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man's religion is worthless.
Sadly believing their feeling are righteousness, because they are cloaked in bible words. Nor does our nobleness in being offended when someone does an unrighteousness, thinking this gives us the moral right to administer God's wrath in abusive language?
Titus 3:1 Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 3:2 to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men. 3:3 For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
James 3:5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest! 3:6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.{or, Hell} 3:7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and thing in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind. 3:8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 3:9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of God. 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
No that is not truth, truth is Christ Jesus righteousness given to us, from God's love as a gift freely, our emotions or righteousness did not earn the gift. It is not our righteousness or our emotions because we love truth. It is Christ intimately communing with us, so we have a pattern of Christ personality that our Father is transforming us into, not the old man, the old flesh which is dead in Christ no longer living. The emotions and anger from the old man are evil, they divided and cause ruin and misery in all their ways. Christ would soon experiences the wrath of these men, he would find they had no love of the Father in them, and they did not know the Father YHWH, because the spirit they showed from using God's word was from the Devil, cloaked in self-righteousness. These men had no faith at all in the Father they claimed to serve they took matter into their own hands, using God's word and murder the Son of God!
Hebrews 11:4 By faith, Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had testimony given to him that he was righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and through it he, being dead, still speaks.
1 John 3:12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
Jude 1:11 Woe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah's rebellion.
