MAIN TALK UNDERSTANDING GOD THE SCRIPTURES

Daily Bible Thought > John 9:1-4. -"Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents?"

John 9:1 As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.
9:2 His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 9:3 Jesus answered, "Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him. 9:4 I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.

Sin enter into the world through one man, thus, all men sin and all die. But this was not the point Christ makes here. The point he made was about an erroneous view some hold that a bad disease, or blindness in this case, was caused by sin against God. Hence, God was punishing this particular sinner more than all other sinners; for we are all sinner and the proof is we all die.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Many believe this faulty thinking, they also believe that if a person is blessed that God is playing favorites. However, God is impartial, he desires none to suffer or does he bless some over others giving them greater wealth or talent because of special merit or faith. God allows each of us to make choices under unforeseen circumstances which befall all of us. Someday God will pour out his blessing upon mankind under a new heavens and earth. In this case Christ would do a miracle for the blind man, but for what purpose? It was to glorify God, giving human a preview of God's love and power, the same power Christ would be entrusted with where under his incoming kingdom God will heal all the nations of our earth.

Rev.22:1 He showed me a{TR adds "pure"} river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, 22:2 in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 22:3 There will be no curse any more. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants serve him.
22:4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

Moreover, many have an erroneous view that by certain good works God is obligated to bless them materially, or in restoring them to health, but this story proves the blind man or the his parents could not say why their son was healed? Some today since Christ time have had health restored, and others have received blessings, but they did not earn them, and if they are honest they will tell you they don't know why they were blessed, and others were not? Faith is a gift of God, many make the mistake of declaring that the person not healed did not have enough faith, making God not only partial but evil. If faith is a gift of the Holy Spirit and God gives each one of us a measure of faith, than to heal some, while not others mean God did not distributed enough faith to the person not healed. God loves all his children he does not play favorites, but he makes decision that requires true Christian's to make choices, to test their real heart condition. Will they impute evil to God when not blessed, or will they impute good just as God is good and loving. If we are a person that like the praise of men, and think we are special than God doing good works towards someone like this blind man can only lead us into imputing evil to God. In this case, the evil was imputed first to the man, and than to his parents of this man, and finally too Christ Jesus himself by the Pharisee's who thought they were more righteous and better than the sinners whom they dealt with as teachers.

James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn't God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?
2:6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Don't the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts? 2:7 Don't they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called? 2:8 However, if you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself,"{Leviticus 19:18} you do well. 2:9 But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my beloved brothers.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

This miracle glorified God, he drew up hearts and converted others into believing in the son of man, in all cases it proved it was from God because that is exactly how God's works from the creation of man forward in searching hearts, in him letting each of us see the truth of hidden thing of our hearts so we may repent and turn to God in truth and love.

Matthew 12:18 "Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the nations.

Matthew 12:20 He won't break a bruised reed. He won't quench a smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory.

Isaiah 33:5 Yahweh is exalted, for he dwells on high. He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
